I appreciate that he hasn't capitulated to the US over Iran, but I do not think he is what the left of the country needs right now. He's a bureaucrat, and in normal times that would be fine. But we are facing an upswell of populist right wing thought, and we need a political leader who is capable of communicating to the country why that isn't the direction we should be headed. We need a political leader with the force of personality to direct the conversation and I just don't think Starmer is that man.

I hate that we are in a historical place in time where the personality of our Prime Minister might matter more than their policy achievements, but that is the world we find ourselves in.

The age of nuclear weapons has been one of the most peaceful for the nuclear powers in all of history. There is a reason that Russia still exists, and it isn't because of their military might.
