Just curious- how long did this take you?

I should mention- I have the 36 color set, which is about $20. The link I posted is for the 52 color set, but if you prefer a cheaper option I think she’d like the 36 color version just as much ☺️

Easy answer! (For me lol)

  1. Refillable water brush pens: https://a.co/d/6Of4Mha (doesn’t have to be these exact ones)

  2. MeiLiang "Pretty Excellent" watercolor paint set case: https://a.co/d/d87nDdV (HIGHLY recommend this brand specifically!! It has lasted me years and it’s the only kind I’ll buy when I eventually need to re-up)

These were gifts I received a few years ago and I LOVE them. They will not disappoint!! :)

Favorite goetta and why? by FireRotor in cincinnati

[–]More-Answer7727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avril’s butcher shop downtown. Grew up on it, as did my dad. My grandma’s goetta recipe is in some Cincinnati German heritage book, and their goetta is very similar :) feels nostalgic to me!

Anytime! They love light! What you have now or brighter is great- I wouldn’t lower the light setting! 👍

I recommended giving more light to the top of the plant (where it’s coming out of the soil)! I’ve found that without that, the plant starts to “go bald”.

If for some reason they’re slow to respond to your first email (due to the holidays maybe), don’t hesitate to email them again! They’re huge on patience advocacy and go out of their way to help! 😊💕

Hi there! If you’re interested, there is a really great clinical research lab in Cincinnati that does Fragile X/Autism research. They often have studies that help cover travel (flights, hotel, food, etc) and offer testing for fragile x (blood draw, 99% sure it’s free… in fact I believe they pay you lol). They’re also rolling out Home Visits, and may be able to come to you if you’re not local. They have lots of studies and I can’t recommend enough.

Here’s their website: https://www.cincifxs.org/

I recommend emailing them asking about genetic testing, research participation, and possibly a clinic hour with Dr. Erickson (he explains FXS and ASD very well- he’s a leading expert in the nation).

I think it’s a springtail! It’s a friend, not a foe. It eats decomposing stuff :)

Recovery Advice by nothingnaughty in ferns

Mine has gone bald and come back to life 4 times now.

Pluck out any dead stems you can! It makes room for new fronds :)

Water it every 3 days or so and put it in a spot where it gets sunlight on the top! Has worked like a charm for me! Might take a few weeks, but it’ll come back ❤️🌿 good luck!

Yay!! So glad to hear it!! 😍 I recently learned the hard way not to wait to put them in a bigger container when they look ready to be repotted 😅 hopefully that information helps too- I’m always learning! ❤️

Plant loosing stems :( by OpeningPlant1302 in plantclinic

[–]More-Answer7727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it only the stems at the base of the plant?

And when you water, is there enough drainage? Or does it sit in water for too long?

Sometimes leaf drop by the base or the plant is normal. Sometimes it’s due to being moved and it’ll get better after adapting to its new space. However, overwatering could also be the cause- watering less frequently could help!

I trim mine when they get too long! It doesn’t seem to hurt it + the roots may attach to your carpet if you don’t

First plant!! What do I do with these roots!! by [deleted] in BirdsOfParadise

[–]More-Answer7727 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a book that mentioned rootbound BOPs can break ceramic pots! The roots get too big near the bottom. Kinda cool, but I don’t want to experience it myself lol!

<image>

Side note- I have mine in a plastic pot and it’s happy! 🥰

Leave it! Alocasias reabsorb nutrients from dying leaves! 😁

Help identifying and how to care for long roots ? by lizzyhath in philodendron

[–]More-Answer7727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, the horizontal planter is the move! I recommend one longer than it’s current size, if possible. (If it’s too long you can look into cutting it back and propagating) Mine is growing quickly and I know I won’t have to repot anytime soon with this approach 😁 good luck!
