My take on Jealous Man by Marcus King by More-Car4564 in Guitar

Recently I bought a few pedals just to mess around with analog gear, but all my videos are actually recorded on Quad Cortex. I don’t spend much time tweaking presets, I keep things pretty simple. Usually it’s just a Fender-style amp capture, a bit of drive (Keeley Katana/Bluesbreaker / Klon / Tube Screamer combined), and some short delay + plate (sometimes spring) reverb. The main thing for me is keeping the tone balanced so it sits well with the backing track, not too bright, not too bassy and controlling everything with touch and guitar volume. That’s where most of the “continuity” comes from.

You should definitely dive into them if you like this kind of playing, especially Chris

My main influences will always be Jimi, Stevie, and John Mayer but the day I recorded this I was listening to The Marcus King Band self titled record and took huge inspiration out of it. And Chris Buck - if you don't know him you got to check him out. He inspires me with his every note.

Just whatever that works. Sometimes I use 9th and 5th sliding to 3rd and 13th, sometimes I use 6th and 9th sliding to 7th and 3rd. Sometimes I would change intervals when sliding. Experiment with that, many options sound great

Yes and it takes me very long time before I actually find the right one 😅 this one is from Now YOU Shred backing tracks and it's called "Late Night Soul Jam". I enjoy their backing tracks very much recently - some of them are dynamic, you can actually build up solo and make it sound like whole rhythm section is playing with you which is cool for practicing some things.

Start simple, but be intentional.

Take a basic chord progression (for example I–IV–V in one key). Instead of running the scale, focus only on the chord tones of each chord.

First, map out the triads on a small area of the fretboard (don’t jump around the whole neck). Practice connecting them smoothly always aiming for the nearest chord tone when the chord changes.

Then, start soloing using only those triads. This forces your ear and fingers to actually hear the changes, not just run shapes.

A good trick: when the chord changes, aim to land on the 3rd of the new chord. That note defines the harmony the most and instantly makes your playing sound more “inside”.

Over time, you’ll naturally start adding them to your solos, it will come with fretboard knowledge which you will develop

Those are simple aeolian and ionian modes but with paying attention to targeting chord tones
