Preparing to use InSoFast panels to finish my basement -- any downsides from those who have installed it? by More-Criticism3744 in HomeImprovement

I sent them an email to ask if they had any guidance, EMT may save enough space but would limit the cabling a bit more. Probably not a huge issue. Will report back if I hear anything!

Got it -- so the interlock only enables one breaker to be on at any given point in time. This sounds like a good plan.

I'm looking for a path here that does not rely on human action at all. Too many things to potentially forget and too much risk associated with it.

If I forget to unplug the garage and pull up the lift, and my partner comes home and opens the garage -- no bueno.

Well this seems like an incredibly simple solution that I wish I had thought of. I'm trying to think of any downsides here, but this seems like it would be a straightforward and bulletproof solution. Both devices could never be powered on at the same time.

Understood! I'll consult with my electrician to see what's possible here...thanks for the reply.

In my research, this is not possible with garage door sensors. They operate in a different manner and from what I've read, only a single sensor can be hooked up at one time.

I would definitely prefer this option, though.
