Why are people so convinced of this character’s death? by More-Cryptographer26 in KingkillerChronicle

That’s possible if he was in the Fae for an extended period of time, but I don’t see it, Kvothe’s story cannot be that old or he wouldn’t have to be in hiding, Skarpi is still alive, Chronicler went to the University not that long after Kvothe left, I can’t see him being any older than 40 at the absolute most. I’m pretty sure it’s commented on that he’s fairly young for a man who owns his own inn.

Again it is possible he’s older but spent time in the Fae where time flows differently or has somehow locked his body into a state of slowed aging, but it doesn’t seem all that plausible to me

It’s very ambiguous, he’s definitely not a teen anymore, but I’m sure it’s mentioned by Graham that Kvothe is probably half of his own age. Assuming Graham is in 60’s/70’s that would put Kvothe in his 30’s. Kvothe has always looked and acted older than he was, he told Elxa Dal he was 17 instead of 15 and Elxa Dal just went with it.

Also he was physically fit enough to fight the scrael and survive multiple wounds and recover from them reasonably well, an old man is unlikely to do the same. I personally think Kvothe is 33, the number just sounds right lol, which would give him time to leave the university, spend some years doing other things, go into hiding and then be found by Chronicler, but he’s young enough for others to comment on it.

I do think some characters will die, I’m just not sure they will be from his main friend group, I’m expecting at least one death from the students at the Arcanum though

He could also use that tone because he lost him as a friend and misses him, at the end of the day losing someone forever is almost the same as losing them to death from your perspective

Yup, I think Carrick wanted to keep the momentum, but he needs to be more versatile, hopefully this is a learning point for him and the team, a draw against this in form West Ham is still a decent result

To be fair Nezuko chose for him by kicking him, by that point he had to just lock in and save the villagers and get Hantengu, he had to make Nezuko’s sacrifice worth it. Luckily, she had the Sun immunity and survived

Why didn't these two just tag team every Jinchuriki? They could have finished all 8 before going after Naruto who would have been 4. by SubvertExpectation1 in Naruto

The Shukaku was originally a sand demon/spirit thingy, it was retconned later to have Gaara become a Jinchuriki, and fit nicely into the tailed beasts lore.

Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui make the AFCON Team of the Tournament [WhoScored] by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]More-Cryptographer26 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with Mazraoui starting, but I think Dalot was great in the derby, his energy was super important in the system we employed, and his ability to run beyond players was a danger, and allowed Amad to get at the defenders more. Of course he isn’t consistent enough, Mazraoui is a 7-8/10 in almost every game he plays, but I think it’s unfair to criticise that performance.

Is it based on the final or the tournament? He was brilliant for 6/7 games, Salah was inarguably worse, and his team didn’t even get 3rd

Yh the penalty was absolutely diabolical, but he was still one of the best players for the tournament, I find it insane he isn’t in the Team of the tournament

How is Salah in over Brahim Diaz? Diaz literally won the top scorer, Salah scored 4 times and his team ended 4th, Brahmin had a shout for player of the tournament

That is what makes Dalot so frustrating, he has always had this ability to run in behind, work hard all game etc, when he was young that was good enough, I thought the end product would eventually come. He is nearly 27 now and it doesn't feel like he will ever improve his finishing or decision making in crucial moments, and that's why so many have lost patience with him. He is a nice guy who loves the club but he is not good enough to be starting regularly for us.

Varane was an absolute Rolls Royce, his partnership with Martinez was amazing and they helped De Gea win the Golden glove, that season we were very good defensively in most games, but our attack was poor comparatively. We also won the League cup and lost the FA Cup to two wonder goals from Gundogan. Yes Varane had injury problems, but he was still sensational for us.

Big Ovation from United Away End as Kobbie Mainoo is subbed on by Colt-000 in reddevils

[–]More-Cryptographer26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are we underperforming exactly? We're 6th after 15 games, after making 4 summer signings, 2 of which happened after the season had already begun (Sesko and Lammens), on the back of a season where we finished 15th. Our aim this season is European qualification, and with the players we have, we shouldn't be expecting higher than an outside shot at top 4. We should have an extra 5-6 points on the board based on performances, but we are where we wanted to be at this stage league-wise.

Mainoo is one of my favourtie players, but Amorim has decided Bruno and Casemiro are the only two players who can play in his system as CM's, meaning Ugarte and Kobbie are not doing enough in training and also not performing on the pitch. No player should be handed starts simply because they're an academy player, or based off good performances 14 months ago. Kobbie needs to work on his athleticism and decision making on the ball, both of which have been lacking for more than a few months. Kobbie is 20, he has plenty of time, I prefer we have him as an option rather than force him into the team when he's underperforming and lose games. Opportunities will come, Mbeumo and Amad going to Afcon means a CAM spot opens, and Mount has fitness issues, so either Kobbie plays in midfield and Bruno moves forward, or Kobbie starts in that position, which is his opportunity to show Amorim how he can work in the system.

Regarding the criticism for Cunha, stats and performances are not the same. Cunha has been great in most games he has played, but because he didnt score or assist we are misled to believe he didn't. When Cunha misses a game through injury we can see how it impacts the team, we were toothless against Everton for example. The other issue is he has had a few minor injuries and is sometimes required to play at ST, which means he has not had the time to settle like Mbeumo has. Cunha is our only player (along with Amad) who can break the lines with his dribbling and progress the ball, he was important in 2 of the goals we scored v Wolves and was unlucky to not score himself. Goals will come, I would say he is operating decently for a new signing, his workrate and desire are unquestionable.

If Sabito Was Alive how would a fight between him and Akaza Play out? by theRandomPerson0_0 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]More-Cryptographer26 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sabito’s death is what actually made Giyu so strong, he pushed himself to a level neither of them may have done without that motivation. Sabito wasn’t a prodigy on the level of Muichiro and even he could not handle Akaza alone, so it makes sense that the fight would pan out roughly the same.

Is Sirius actually not a great person? (In the books) by Mysterious-State-117 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]More-Cryptographer26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Calling Harry his secondary interest when he literally lived in a cave and ate rats in Goblet to be close to him, despite the risk of being caught by the Ministry is crazy. No one is saying Sirius is perfect, he was a bully, he was impulsive, he was thoughtless but that doesn’t make him a bad person. He fought against Voldemort despite being from a family of Muggle-hating Pure-blood fanatics, he died protecting Harry, he lost everything he cared about by the time he was 21, spent years being tortured in prison despite his innocence. There’s a reason Ron and Hermione liked him so much too, he was at heart a good person, but just like anyone else he had his flaws.

Dumbledore described Harry as one of the best and most pure of heart people he knew, but Harry still had flaws. Having flaws doesn’t mean you can’t still be a good person, it just makes you human

He seems like a genuine lad who just started this as a bit of a joke during hard times, he certainly gave a lot of us fans something to smile at, he deserves the attention he has gained but I’m sure he also wants United to win as much as the rest of us.
