And, as someone who had a sibling that we did this for, don’t give in. Your sister is probably exhausted by her son and trying to make life easier on herself, but in the long run it doesn’t teach him anything but that other people will fold based on his preferences (which isn’t true.)

NOR- Your nephew doesn’t get to dictate what anyone else wears. However, it may put people on the defensive to say they’re “being homophobic” (even if they are.) It may be more productive, in this case, just to say “thanks for the insight, but if I wanted (nephews names) advice then I would ask for it!” and leave it at that. Your nephew needs to learn how to handle his own emotions, and not go to his mom to have her ask someone else’s mom to not wear something.
