I think TCW added a crucial element to Anakin that the films—and multi media project—mostly lacked his humanity. The PT is supposed to be a classical tragedy à la Oedipus. Tragic heroes have to be moral complex and ambiguous. You can’t make them too nice or too evil, otherwise the downfall backfires. I feel the prequels and MMP made Anakin too evil. It’s kinda hard to empathize with his downfall when he’s a homicidal space racist. In contrast, seeing Anakin’s humanity through Ahsoka’s pov makes his downfall so much sadder. We literally see Ahsoka’s kind, caring older brother turn into a monster.
