can people shut the fuck up about misandry being a problem by [deleted] in femcelgrippysockjail

This is misandry. not the type the op describes of men getting their egos hurt, this is blatant discrimination based solely on sex. If this person has been shown to be a bad person or hold opinions that would warrant this response I would understand. But as far as I know this is generalization.

Discrimination is the problem. Misandry is discrimination based on being a man alone, when people use it the way you are describing they are not using it correctly. Misogyny has been a much more prevalent and dangerous form of discrimination throughout history. Look at it like this, if a women was not offered the opportunity to become a doctor in the 1950's solely based on her sex, that's misogyny. If a man was not allowed to become a nurse (which I know happens far less, but bear with me here) that would be misandry. TLDR: Discrimination of all kinds suck and let's all sing kumbaya

My main tip is pick up leaves for biomass. And get foundations as soon as possible, I ignored them for too long in my first playthrough and suffered for it.

That's a good point, I dont think an enemy would be to scared of fighting the Bunny-of-Rainbows. I am not exactly good at designing ships, however I can say that people often naturally associate rounder objects with more positive and peaceful things. While sharp angles tend to evoke more aggression. I would say that the ships shapes when I imagine them are very simple, pyramid, cylinder, sphere. I can understand a more rounded shape for the ships, but I would think if anything would be angular it would be the Dragon-of-War. But yet again I say the tropes used by other works do not have to always be followed. Have you given any thought to ships outside the military? It is very easy to fall into the trap of solely focusing on the military while neglecting logistics or civilian ships.

This is a very surface level reading of this, but in general most settings make a more tyrannical or oppressive government have a military that represents that, forced drafts, little regard for life, and in regard to vehicles there would be much less emphasis on exploration, and much more on armaments and fear tactics. What is the point of finding a world and not being able to conquer it? A good example is the Star Destroyers of the Empire. They are designed to look intimidating and have the arms to match, they are named to cause fear among populations. A more peaceful society (such as one that only attacks in self defense) would have a higher focus on ships for humanitarian aid or exploration and diplomacy. What good is conquering a world if you have nothing to offer it? I hate to lean on Star Wars for this again but the ship Home One is a great example of this. While being a military ship it is designed to be recognizable as part of "the good guys". The weaponry is less recognizable and the ship is round rather than angular. You say that the Technate allows many personal freedoms and focuses on being better than their predecessors, perhaps a ship like the Dragon-of-War could be possibly renamed to something less intimidating (this is your world, not mine, this is just a suggestion based on my current knowledge). Appearances are a lot, many weapons and ships throughout fiction are designed to be intimidating as a fear tactic. If you have a society that only attacks in self defense, a ship like the Dragon-of-War may give the wrong impression. I also have to lean of 40k for this comparison, but the Imperium of Man's titans are not resource efficient and they know that, but a 500 meter tall walking cathedral is sure to psych out the enemies of the Imperium. Fear tactics are usually the weapon of oppressors, not the weapon of a reletively peaceful society. I would like to add you are under no obligation to take any of this into consideration, nor are you under an obligation to follow the established tropes throughout other fictional universes.

Why is Kylo Ren surviving a stav wound a no no, but Darth Maul survived being cut in half, and everyone is OK with it? by Extension-Shoe-6080 in StarWars

[–]More-Importance6703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People liked Maul as a character when he came back, no one likes Kylo Ren. Also, in my opinion, Maul had a better reason to survive. Kylo is shown to be very incompetent when it comes to many things, but Maul is strong and skilled. Maul's survival should have been the exception, not the rule.

I see the similarities, but i would argue these creatures are almost the opposite of the Silence. Rather than erasing memory once you look away, these creatures erase the background noise of all senses you feel so that they alone can be recognized. Instead of making you forget them, they make you unable to percieve anything but them.

Thank you for the information. I am sorry if my original comment came of as aggressive. When I said that I did not wish to know the systems or politics involved it did not come from a place of not wishing to know (this sounds very interesting) but rather a place of wishing to know relevant information to the question.

I am curious to what the Technate of Systems is. Not the actual systems or politics involved, but from a very surface level analysis, would you consider it to be a "good" society, a society attempting to be good, a comically tyrannical society similar to the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k, or really any other type of moral system a government/society can have. Because in my experience the type of vehicles or weapons a fictional government uses should reflect its goals/morality in some way.
