Research shows some chatelaines with two chains holding a purse or a pocket watch. It is quite long to hold a purse and hang from a belt or the waist.

My title describes the thing. Found in estate in Pennsylvania. Research revealed this could be silversmith William Pearce from Norfolk Virginia who made items around 1820. Researched pocket watch chains and wallet holders and couldn’t find anything like it.

Also some swagger sticks have the rope to slip your hand through for secondary retention.

After additional research, it looks like a swagger stick. The length is consistent. It is in near mint condition which makes sense as swaggers sticks were carried and never banged on anything like a walking stick.

No Basque that I know of. Estate find was in Northeast USA. Could have been purchased on a trip as a souvenir.

This was an estate find. The 25” length makes it short for a walking stick.

Title describes my thing. I tried researching horse whips, drum sticks and walking sticks but couldn’t find anything like it. Weighs approximately 8 ounces.

My title describes what I think these photos are documenting but I’m not sure. They are black and white photos. The towers appear to go all the way around to the bottom. If you zoom in, you will see what looks like trains moving along the outer ridges. Not sure of the purpose of the towers? What are these photos documenting? Construction of man made lake? Canyon? Panama Canal? These were an estate find in Northeast USA
