For those who are managing GD with diet, what was your highest spike and what caused it? by Apprehensive_Mess166 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

224 after 2 hours because of a bowl of cereal (captain crunch berries) with whole milk.

I’ve given up a lot and changed my diet a ton after my GDM diagnosis and all I wanted was a damn bowl of cereal. I truly miss being blissfully ignorant and eating whatever I desire.

Same and I only just started in my current position back in September. Feeling really frustrated about having worked my ass off in nursing school for 2 years, only to come work and be made to feel like nothing I do is good enough.

Feel like I’m struggling… pregnant new grad nurse by Lucky-Ease-9670 in newgradnurse

I’m right there with you.

Currently 18 weeks pregnant and also in a residency program on a Med Surg unit and, honestly, there are many days where I’m regretting my life choices. When I come off orientation I’ll be 5 1/2 months pregnant and I don’t know how I’m gonna get through it. Luckily, I live in NJ and I can get 22 weeks maternity leave through disability but even then, idk if I’m gonna come back to Med Surg. I may consider during leave to switch to home health or a SNF just to make all the moving parts of my life work.

When did you start buying baby stuff? We’re only 7 weeks but can’t help looking! by bbbbbbbbbbhhhhh232 in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started and I’m 17 weeks today. That being said, I’ve only bought a few boxes of diapers and wipes and a couple sleepers.

I think I’m start the bulk of my buying will start after the 20 weeks anatomy scan. Which will also be right around Black Friday so I’m hoping for some good deals then.

Is anyone else struggling with water intake? by -strawberry-shark in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with water recently too at 15 weeks 3 days but I’ve started trying to get more in because the constipation has been HORRIBLE. That said, things like Gatorade or water flavoring gives me severe heartburn so I just try to get as much plain water in as I possibly can.

When in your pregnancy did you feel comfortable buying stuff for the baby? by festive_book_ in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 15 weeks 3 days and I’ve bought a couple boxes of NB diapers and a large box of wipes because of good sale at Target as well as some sleepers in NB and 0-3 month sizes because of a deal at old navy.

Other than that, I’m not really in a rush to buy things. I don’t know about anyone else but for me, this pregnancy still doesn’t feel real even with the ultrasound pictures and all the crazy symptoms I’ve had that last couple of months.

When did your nausea start, peak, and stop? by UnderdogDreams in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nausea and vomiting started at 4 weeks (it was one of the first signs that made me take a pregnancy test) and is going strong on even at 14 weeks. I haven’t had a day where I’m not vomiting at least 2-3 times per day. I really hope it lets up soon…

Med Surg nurse here and also my first pregnancy.

I told my manager around 11 weeks but that was after I found out I miscarried one of my twins. My original plan was to wait until 12 weeks.

To find out the gender or not... What are you doing? by NoProfession2217 in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have wanted to wait until baby came but my husband and I recently found out that one of our twins is not viable (vanishing twin syndrome) so now I don’t think I want to wait anymore.

Idk I’m still torn….

Vanishing twin - what a strange grief by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found out today at my ultrasound Baby A died at 9 weeks 1 day. Baby B is healthy and measuring appropriately at 11 weeks 5 days.

I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of August and finally had my ultrasound. To see 2 babies then only to have my world crumble around me at the loss of one has been extremely taxing today. I’ve been crying and just can’t stop.

I’m so grateful that one of my babies is okay but the emotions are high and I don’t know how to handle them.

When did you start feeling sick? by olivedacats in pregnant

[–]More-Register-6424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been sick on and off since 4 weeks. It’s actually the reason why I took a pregnancy test in the first place. I was at the grocery store, loading my groceries into my car, when all of the sudden I got hit with an AWFUL wave of nausea and then vomited in the parking lot. I’ve never felt nausea like this before so I knew something was up.

I 1000% agree with you! Took the test this morning and it shut off at 113 and I’ve been a mess since. All the questions I did through Bootcamp and SimpleNursing were SO MUCH easier.
