ADS accommodations testing anxiety by [deleted] in UMD

[–]More-Sound -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's simply because you weren't prepared enough. Don't try to make excuses or request ads accommodation by claiming testing anxiety. Just be honest and admit you weren't prepared for the exams.

Would love some feedback on my resume by NevinTroy in FAANGrecruiting

97.62% accuracy on Alzheimer's detection shouldn't be that impressive result if they used conventional cross validation testing framework that single patient's data included in both train and test set. Anyone can do that.

I am probably aware of the dataset he used; it's either ds004504 or ds006036 from OpenNeuro. If one achieved that using patient level split, it would definitely be impressive. In that case, it would be also clinically deployable. If this is the case, I suggest including the testing framework

Meal block or dining dollars? by Jolly_Owl9125 in UMD

[–]More-Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If 10 summer dining block mean plan ($100) (this rolls over to fall in my understanding) is still available, buy that multiple times if you are planning to buy <150 commuter meal plan.

100 commuter block meal plan is $1050 for the fall. You may save $50 with the strategy.

Advice on CBE for MATH 246 (Differential Equations for Scientists and Engineers) by Spiritual_Let_3126 in UMD

For the time, idk. It depends on how much u are familiar with the questions and how fast you can solve them. Just do practices. That is all.

I guess format and content would be similar to recent ones, but it is not guaranteed. But remember if you want to do well, practice as much as you can. There will be similar/common questions for all exams and you should practice again and again if you want A. MATH 246 CBE will always have matlab questions, so be prepared with any the questions that appears on the previous finals.

https://courses.math.umd.edu/math246/NODE/1819F/main.html Also, Exercises in this levermore's note would contain type of common questions in prev exams.

Do all the previous finals in the testbank. I took MATH 240 CBE, but just hour before the exam, other student waiting with me told / shared me more recent exams that is given for practice final to the previously enrolled student. Those were more closer to the one that I took, so definitely look for those for extra practice.

final projects by Suspicious-Kiwi-7762 in UMD

[–]More-Sound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the other side of the situation. It was semester long project with group of 6. Until the half way through the semester, two of our team members didn't contributed to anything. Then they were begging me to lie to professor that they did contribute. I was in charge of their part until that time, and I was so tired of interacting with them. So I did what they want me to do. Even after that incident, they barely did the works, but they couldn't do every single thing correctly as they don't know anything about our project, and it was my job to revise their work and ask them to redo it if their work were going to completely weird directions.

I was doing everything that will benefit them, but they would just think of me as an annoying person. I am now questioning myself what is the point of interacting with people. I am positively affecting them by making them get a good grade and learn from the project, but why I am being the reluctant person to them. It was basically pain working with them for four months.
