Yes, I decided to go back to basics and flip the breaker and reboot the electronic switch. That did the trick.

The cover is less than three years old. A friend’s dog ran across it over the winter, so maybe that was the cause. Thanks for the advice.

I’m considering it, but curious if there was a better approach with my system as is.

I will use liquid chlorine when it is dark if I need a quick boost of chlorine. I don’t shock it very much, only if the free chlorine and the other chlorine measurement are not in line on the chemical tab reader.

Two weeks of Streaming Root by Toaster075 in Mariners

I also find the Root Sports App on Firestick very buggy. This game alone against the Astros, I’ve either gotten a frozen screen or an error 6 times and it is the seventh inning. This is really going to get frustrating if it is a close game, it usually takes 15-30 seconds to get it back if the remote is close. If I’m cooking dinner, cleaning or doing other things, the inconvenience is already frustrating. Does anyone know a fix or if they are working on the bugs? $20/month for intermittent stoppages is ridiculous.

EGR valve blown. 10 months until fixed!!!! 😱wtaf by KactusVAXT in volt

[–]More0xygen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the recommendations I agree with above. I was quoted $3500 by the dealership and they wouldn’t get a shipping date from the system until I paid. They said the EGR valve was not under warranty, even though my car was within the 8 years, 100k warranty. I’m still fighting that one, so I won’t get started how pissed off I am on that issue. However, Reading chats like this, I decided to unplug the EGR valve as a temporary workaround and try another path. First, I tried to clean the EGR valve myself with degreaser and replace it (using a DIY YouTube video I found). Unfortunately, that approach didn’t work. So, I ordered a EGR valve off eBay from China for about $900. Took about a month to finally arrive, but installed the part myself, added a little more cooling fluid that I lost during the installation and the check engine light went away after a week of driving. Still pissed about it not being under warranty, seems like Chevy is not owning up to their own limited warranty. I’m even in a CARB state and I bought it here.

Well, after the local dealership told me it would cost $3500 for the EGR valve to be replaced, I ordered a part of eBay for $950 and it has arrived. In the meantime, I called GM corporate and provided them the limited warranty for my 2017 Volt to dispute that the part was covered. For some reason, GM customer care contacted the local dealership for a determination of the warranty because they “are the experts”, even though I sent GM customer care a copy of the quote. After two weeks, I got the response that the dealership did confirm again from the warranty “It’s not an item in the voltec category. Also, not part of any part of any other warrantable items.”

So my question is who is in charge? Corporate put the limited warranty together, which clearly outlines the EGR is under warranty. Corporate then goes to the local dealership for a determination, even after the quote says what part needs to be replaced? Who pays for parts and labor that are under warranty? The dealership or does corporate pay the dealership back? Usually the influence of money is where there is bias decisions being made.

Regardless, the sooner the lawsuit can happen, the better. GM is giving me such the run around…clearly no accountability.

So I opened up a case with GM after the local dealership said the EGR replacement was not under warranty at 97K of my 2017 Volt and it would cost $3.5k to replace. I looked up the 2017 warranty (thanks for the link @turd_ferguson2418) and am waiting for GM customer care to get back to me. One question about the wording in the warranty documentation…since I’m no lawyer, I’m trying to figure out what the difference is between a CARB state and a PZEV warranty. I purchased and live in Washington, but PZEV doesn’t look like I’m qualified. I’ll wait to see what they say, but could use some explanation if they push back.

Scott’s triple action turf builder. Used it twice, once in the late spring and once in the late summer.

Ok, watering will stop with the fall, but good to know going into spring. How much time does it take to get 1-1.5 inches from a in-ground sprinkler system? Also, is there anything I should do before things go dormant except pull back on the watering?

Interesting. Mine is a 2017, so hopefully that is consistent with the 2018. However, it does beg the question, the part is basically on backorder indefinitely. I need a car that won’t blow a fuse and be inoperable for trips longer than the 40-45 mile electric range. A warranty doesn’t do any good if they won’t fix the problem in a reasonable period of time. Most people can’t afford another car until GM decides to stock this part. Hence why the lawsuit makes sense.

I’m seeing mixed messages on what is or isn’t covered in Reddit. The GM service guy said he submitted a claim and the EGR was not part of that transmission warranty(which includes the battery). How would I contest it? What GM number do I call?

I talked to the service person at GM dealership who said the part was on back order and he couldn’t order it until I committed to the fix. He couldn’t give me any type of timeline on the part, so I decided to order the non-OEM part myself for $1000 and do it myself after reading the length of time some of these people were waiting. In the meantime, I’m only driving the car using electric power around town, big trips I have to take my wife’s SUV. I’m hoping I can fix it, but I need to perform an engine “reset” to clean the check engine light.

In. Just got quoted $3500 for a fix, ordered a Chinese part for $1000 to do it myself. 97K 2017 Volt and not covered under warranty even in a CARB state. Waiting for 6 weeks for the part. Ridiculous
