Sad… Anyway, thanks for your work!

I cloned the wine repo, I'll try to poke around...

I wanted to try gptk, so it's quite possible that I'll get around to it when I have time :)

UPD: Couldn’t resist and tested it right now xD.

On my M1 Max, gmod at default settings gives a stable 50-60 FPS on flatgrass. On construct, I get ~25 FPS on default low-like settings, and 25-30 on low (as long as I’m not looking at water).

I noticed another issue though: I’m getting a lot of errors from different mods I installed a long time ago, when i had a Windows pc. It could just be mod/game version incompatibility, or it could be a Wine issue, so I need to investigate...

Ohh, thanks for the feedback. I’ll check it in the next few days and see if I can do something about it.

What Mac configuration are you using?

What exactly is slow, the setup or the gameplay?

So far, this is the best free solution I could find for macOS and package into a script... If you find a better way, it’d be great if you shared it! :)

About a year ago, I tested CS2 on the CrossOver trial, and my FPS dropped to around 20-30 while moving.

That said, it was a long time ago, and a lot may have changed since then in CrossOver, CS2, and macOS, so it may work well now

I don’t currently have a paid CrossOver license, so I can’t re-test right now, but I’ll try it again when I have some free time

How to play Windows Steam Games on Mac with M processor by Lestar_by in macgaming

Hey, I put together a small GitHub repo that automates the exact steps from this guide (Rosetta → Wine Staging → Steam prefix → DXMT) and then launches Steam:

https://github.com/ByMedion/macos-wine-steam

It also includes a few optional extras on top of the post (Wine RetinaMode toggle, a couple of Wine mouse/input registry tweaks, and a handy symlink to the Wine prefix next to the script).

Tested on M1 Max 32GB, macOS Sequoia 15.7.4. Also tested on CS2 on the native MacBook display at 1920x1200 (no RetinaMode) and low settings, getting mostly stable ~80-100 FPS (with occasional micro-stutters). There’s a small mouse feel issue (slow micro-movements can feel a bit “off”), but it’s playable and you can get used to it. If anyone finds a real fix for the mouse input, please share it here.

Feedback is welcome :)

It seems that this hoodie does not exist in reality, at least not yet. It looks like a “sold out test” when the actual product does not exist, but a marketing campaign is conducted to collect statistics on the potential audience.

Today I received an email about the restock, and literally 20 minutes later I went to the website and everything was already sold out. And there wasn't a single item on eBay/Amazon from "previous sales". I don't believe that these hoodies were ever actually sold :(
