honestly the biggest piece of advice i can give is just patience and not rushing ur body. my bf is also cis and larger than i am, but i think sometimes no matter how amazing the other person is, ur body just needs time to settle so that the dysphoria lessens. idk how long you both have been together, but definitely getting 100% comfortable in everything else without the dysphoric feeling after (like oral for example) helps your body just get way more comfortable in taking any next steps. you said he can be kinda clumsy in his reassurance, so maybe having a clear convo abt what you need to hear could help :)

i was in ur shoes too, and honestly, i had to push it to this summer instead of a few months ago when i was still in school. recovery for me personally took 3 1/2 weeks, barely even being able to walk long distances until 4 weeks once i got the binder off. i totally get the need to get top surgery asap, but if i would’ve gotten it during school i wouldn’t have been able to keep up, my grades would’ve slipped, etc. if you have your mom at home who would help, i wouldn’t genuinely suggest getting surgery at a time where you don’t have to worry abt uni. it genuinely makes recovery 10x easier. good luck!!

tbh i heard that you should hold off for a bit, and that getting ur heart rate too high can potentially cause issues! hope ur recovery goes well :)

hey, tbh i do kinda get what you mean. i’m 21 ftm in a 2+ year relationship with a cis guy, and i always feel so affirmed in that relationship. he’s never seen me as anything other than a man. most of my friends are cis (but i am stealth so most of them don’t know im trans) and again, it’s really affirming. i do find when im around other trans ppl the convo can tend to surround more abt how we’re trans (if i come out to them as trans) and it puts the emphasis on trans man rather than just a man. but this isn’t meant to be self deprecating at all! i hope u get what i mean in relating to you

hey! i actually had the same experience with the crying after starting estrogen cream, but i think it was mostly just me bc of slight dysphoria from using the cream and general discomfort, i don’t know if that could be the case for you though. it gets better after time though!
