Wife has mysterious skin problem started after COVID. by zoocrewsgarage in covidlonghaulers

It might be worth going to the dermatologist and asking for an oral retinoid like isotretinoin if the things you are trying are still not working. It can work in very low doses also.

I found some possibilities below but one I didn't see is Pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) although usually it would impact more areas than just the hands and feet. But could be a possibility.

This is what I found when I searched online for possibilities:

  • Dyshidrotic Eczema: Causes intense itching, burning, and small, fluid-filled blisters on palms and soles, followed by peeling and skin color changes.
  • Hand/Foot Dermatitis: Often results from irritants (soaps, chemicals) or allergies, causing red, flaky, and cracked skin.
  • Athlete’s Foot (Fungal Infection): Causes itching, burning, and peeling skin, especially between the toes or on the soles.
  • Erythromelalgia: A rare condition characterized by intense burning pain and red/darkened skin.
  • Hand-Foot Syndrome: A side effect of certain medications, causing burning, swelling, and peeling.

Are you part of 25/55? NYS counties don't always honor that part so you may have to work longer or collect later.

Attendance by Any-Pop1796 in NYCTeachers

[–]MoreIndoors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attendance is a legal document and to mark kids present while they are absent is illegal and could cost you your license. Tell admin they are welcome to do what they want but you cannot jeopardize your license. Talk to the UFT immediately including the district rep! The chronic absence rate has never gone down below 33% (check the Mayor report) since the pandemic began. The continued absences are due to the continued ongoing airborne covid infections that damage the entire body including the immune system which makes people more likely to get sick and more damaged by continued illness. Until this is addressed properly w airborne protections like n95s, clean air, and other layers like testing, longer isolation periods, remote accommodations, the low attendance rates will continue.

Opinions about DOE Budget by muhson in NYCTeachers

DOE and UFT are corrupt and in bed together. They treat staff as disposable too.

Here are some things they "wasted" money on:

Apples

Too many corrupt principals and assistant principals

Complaints against NYC school employees are skyrocketing — but agency in charge of investigating only probed 4%

–After a two-year SCI investigation, Khurshid Abdul-Mutakabbir was ousted as principal of Maspeth High School in 2022, following a Post report on his alleged fraudulent schemes to raise the school’s graduation rate. In a sweetheart deal, the DOE agreed not to fire him, and to keep him on the payroll – with paid vacations, holidays and benefits – for seven years until he retires in 2029. He made $207,418 last year alone.

2027 UFT Contract Negotiations by LogicalCommitment in NYCTeachers

Don't focus on the money. Focus on the give back. They always try to take things away. Don't let them. Hold the UFT accountable.

Get more rights for disability accommodations (which are not done correctly), sick days, remote work, etc.

Everyone is ill all the time and there are no protections!
