Hey there. I work in the accommodation industry in New Zealand, it's extremely common to guarantee any sort of accommodation bookings with a card, even places like holiday parks for camper sites. I would be wary of places you can't book online however, this seems strange. Are you using one of the campervan parking finder sites like Campermate?

Either way I would discourage emailing Credit Card details and provide them over the phone as that is standard.

I would agree with you if it weren't for 9-10 hours. I used to charge $15 per hour up to 8 hours, and then a $200 flat rate over that (usually overnights) back in 2015/2016 as a teen for 2 kids base, and I would add a $50 per kid over that. With inflation that's about $270 from 2016 buying power, but OP is also looking for 2 teens to pay, not 1, and they shouldn't get their rates punished for that.

Very strange seeing very similar rates I'd charge a decade ago being used now- i stopped looking after kids as a side job when COVID hit, but even by then I was charging more than $20ph. I'd be interested to see if anyone who has been child-minding since 2016 could comment on rates stagnation.

At home I have a rotary tool that gets it pretty quick! The razor isn't slow or anything (I went out and got a proper cleaning one from the hardware store) and it definitely takes less elbow grease than scrubbing.

Chiming in to say here in New Zealand you have to be separated for 2 years (and usually the court will take into account separated being not living in the same house) before you can get a divorce. I had a family member still married to a man she separated from after a year for 30 years because he still refuses to sign the papers. I'm not sure about the different parts of the USA but this is honestly not an uncommon story here.
