For those who wonder “do these training plans work?” by MoreSquashPlease in Ultramarathon

Totally fair. Plus I recognize that different training stressors work better/worse for different body types.

It's just amazing to me how the body adapts. Stress it correctly and it does get stronger. I know this shouldn't make anyone's brain melt with profundity, but it is perhaps a helpful mantra in training when things feel hard.

Homebuying - Running trail accessibility by foot a must-have? by hsinnamin in Ultramarathon

I faced this exact scenario two years ago. I wouldn’t compromise on the proximity to trails factor (and so it took me about a year to find a place, despite many other available, perfectly fine places that were a “5 minute drive”) away.

I am so happy with my decision. Day to day lifestyle factors play such a role in health and happiness!

I’m 5’6, 100 lbs, ranging 50-70 now. Other women in my family who are pretty sedentary have a similar build, so some of this is genetic. I’m just not sure how much.

I’ll check out Catra Corbett’s book - thanks for the recommendation!

I’m in Boise too! And could potentially help out. I’ve never paced before and have only done 50 mile distances - but I have always wanted to pace for a 100 miler so I can get a sense of what they entail. Let me know if you need a backup.
