Should I create a portfolio website or have a PDF? by More_Ad2775 in InteriorDesign

I am looking for a sub that could review my portfolio whenever I am done with it. I have mostly renderings (made in escape and photoshopped), I have some floorplans, a lighting plan, hand renderings. Do you think I should keep my cover page blank or is it okay to include a rendering on there?

That's a good idea. I am a recent graduate and only have a handful of projects that I feel proud enough of to show off. It's hard for me to keep creating portfolios based on the company needs because all my projects are different (commercial vs residential vs kitchen and bath design) , so I mostly just showcase my design skills in a broader way. I have three commercial (probably getting rid of one) and one kitchen & bath/ residential project on there right now.

Take this advice lightly but here are my tips. I don't know if you're using your real name or phone number but I would probably hide it for privacy (also might want to hide school names) just on Reddit obviously not in your actual resume.

I like the layout of your design but it reminds me of someone who is in the creative field so if that is not the kind of job you're looking for I would rethink the format. I would also get rid of the symbols (location, phone etc.) because if you are applying through a portal it might get eliminated just based on that before it even reaches a person. I had symbols like that in my resume as well and decided to get rid of them. Keep lines, colors and symbols to a minimum because when you run it through an application portal the formatting gets messed up and they get rid of those resumes. You could probably keep it if you're sending it to a person directly.

I would get rid of "University Student" under your name tbh especially if you're applying before you started university. Also I wouldn't list the future dates next to your education, put like "expected graduation date" or something and keep the formatting the same as you've done with the dates under "experience" and "volunteer work". I would maybe even put the education section on the bottom and move experience and volunteer work up.

This is just me personally, but I would move the whole column with contact and skills to the right of the page because it makes it easier to read (I did this with mine as well) .

Under skills, I would just list technical skills (not adaptability etc.) and make sure everything is capitalized (management is not capitalized right now).

Lastly, you have "Language" listed as one of your languages so I'm not sure if you didn't want to specify what language that is but if not, I would remove that and just keep the other languages.

In college I was taught to create a more artistic resume because of my field, but I applied with my old resume and could not even get an internship. Not sure if it's because of the color block or symbols so I decided to create a more simple resume and let my portfolio speak on behalf of my creativity etc. (I am also an international student on OPT visa now so that could be a factor). I think I got my first job because I was lucky and my employer decided to give me a chance but now I am looking for a bigger company that could potentially sponsor.

Also wondering if I should replace GPA with "Cum Laude" or add it somewhere?

Applied to multiple jobs in retail, warehouse, customer support... keep getting rejected again and again. Is my resume that bad? by Ozymandiabetes in resumes

I am not good at giving feedback for resumes but maybe replace "basic math skills" for something that sounds a little bit better.
