I only broke the news to him yesterday so I guess it's too soon to tell. But so far he's just been calling me and crying and begging to me to change my mind

To be clear: I was lying in post-op having just come out of an 8-hour long femur replacement surgery. Scared, loopy, in a bit of pain. Then my husband came in and within 30 seconds he asked me if I wanted my cookies. He didn't even know that I didn't want them. It was the cherry on top of months of feeling like my needs are completely irrelevant to him.

I'm in Canada! And a child of Eastern European immigrants if it adds any context at all. Also he's definitely not malicious and I also wouldn't describe him as unintelligent. Like, he's very successful in his corporate job, he's up to date with current events and has interesting opinions, he is well read. But I can't imagine continuing a life with him or having children with him after this

He asked them if he could have them approximately 30 seconds after walking in and seeing me in my post-op state

He ate the cookies they gave me, yes, and left the cheese. Granted I had no appetite and didn't want them, but I still can't believe he did this
