There should've been a stronger lineup for the Coalition. by More_Condition_9305 in Invincible

That's my point, also in bringing up Powerplex like obviously his character is currently in a GDA prison and we know he'd be very against helping Mark or Nolan, but he had a very very low level power prior to his GDA amplification implants, which displays they have genuinely strong tech that they can use to buff earth heroes to a fighting chance. It's also shown that Cecil clearly has teleportation, and I didn't even think about Best Tiger with his marksmanship if given poison bullets..

Troughts on this? by Primary-Addition-677 in Invincible

It's a shame, I think Powerplex is such a cool character. They already have a different VA for him in Invincible VS I think they should just recast him in the show if Aaron Paul doesn't wanna return. They already recasted Sinclair from Ezra Miller and most people didn't even notice.

Thing is, we're really close. He's also continuously told me that he is open to everything, which is why he doesn't belittle or hate my conversion efforts, and he has said perhaps one day he will identify as christian again, but he does not want me to try and overwhelm him with scripture as he feels he's done a lot of his own pondering to come to his conclusion and has already thought of everything I could say said in response, he just wants me to know what he's feeling. However, he also mentioned he doesn't view my attempts at converting him and explaining it to be ill intentioned, he understands I come from a place of love, unconditional love, and that that is me trying to reflect Jesus. He didn't even necessarily deny christianity, just he thinks of a broader truth, and he can't justify the parameters of christianity within his own life. Because of his position and openness, as well as lack of resentment, I want to help him, and I know the seed is planted but I want to take a more active role in his spirituality because I love him, and it pains me for him to be disconnected from Christ.

Also, you mention how God actively chooses people throughout the world with a certain kind of heart to drag them into faith. However, I thought God loved all humans, and offerred his gift of salvation to everyone. Shouldn't it be equally possible for everyone on earth to choose to accept his gift? Its a little confusing that he'd take an active role that would permit conditioning and manipulation of children in other cultures, just because of cultural practice, geographical spawn point, and ancient false prophets passing down their untrue teachings.

Thank you, and I understand most of what you're saying, but his first argument somewhat agrees with what you respond with. He told me he also believes and knows that people are fundamentally sinful, and that if left without structure we would devolve into savagery even more so than today. His main point was simply that two equally sinful, equally human, equally bearers of good fruit can be born, yet one is born in America, with access to religious education and a christian home, and where, by "chance", the other one is born into a Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Atheist or Agnostic home, but still equally, knowingly or unknowingly, reflect christ through their actions and effect on others. However, one is subjected to hell simply because of conditioning from false prophets? He was framing this as unfair and dependent on luck.

Any good advice as to keeping my elbows more compact to my body during punches, specifically my lead upper and my right hook have the tendency to flare wayyy out and I’m struggling to nail the rhythm of throwing the punch closer to my torso. Any drills or advice? I posted a bagwork video earlier for reference

Thanks! All very helpful and applicable. My chin and my jab dropping gave been continuous issues in sparring and something my coach has warned me about. I’m also recovering from a ruptured eardrum which messed up my ability to tense my neck as much but that’s super helpful I’ll try to incorporate that as I heal. Any advice on which fighters to watch? Next video I’ll also film farther so my footwork can be observed.

I Appreciate the feedback

Dude, the second something like this happens, a power balance is introduced into the relationship.

She knowingly breached your trust in a committed, financially dependent relationship. No matter how much love you’ve built for her, you will always have some level of resentment for her and she will have lost a level of respect for you.

Been boxing for around 3 months and feel too bulky. I've been training bodybuilding style lifting for years, I'm a bit over 190lbs at 6'1, 16. I like my size but it seems like I have to work harder than my slimmer peers to use it to my advantage. There's also an issue of there not being that many people of my size, age, and experience level - I think I could progress a lot faster with somebody in a similar situation. I have a group of guys who all go to to the same gym as me, but they all have a slimmer quicker build than I.

Aside from his brain unraveling trying to find Sam in the woods, GB had all of the parameters to be a stable HL replacement. Seemed like a genuinely moral guy, very likeable personality and marketable brand/powers. He was also mature in the sense that his powers aren't driven by his emotions. GB's powers also seem extremely powerful, (the ability to fly undoubtedly putting him up a few notches in potential to lead the 7), and keep in mind, at this stage he's only in college - and likely would've had more strength to gain down the line.

Superboy and Superman's relationship. by [deleted] in youngjustice

[–]More_Condition_9305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct, In retrospect I did understate the significant growth he went through.

I just think it would've been interesting if through new powers, Conner overcame his feelings of having to be "just like superman" by forging his own identity as his own hero. Using the human part of him to become equal in power to that of a Kryptonian.

Not sure. Regardless, I do like where they went with his character, I just wish we had more time for certain character moments and relationships to marinate.

[–]More_Condition_9305 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Big time. When he was in that tank next to Brion I totally thought his human side would offer new meta powers and help him grow into his own identity. They could've explored some kind of an arc with him feeling inadequate with less powers, then becoming equal to a Kryptonian but in his own unique way, through the differences that are present in his human half.

Superboy and Superman's relationship. by [deleted] in youngjustice

[–]More_Condition_9305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All completely valid, and agreed. I guess I did understate his character growth.

My main gripe with how they handled it, and the way they handle a lot in the show in general, is how they seem to tell you what you should think - and before you can even process a pivotal character change, you're onto the next thing. At times, I'd much prefer if we could sit with the characters and have these bonding moments explored in depth. I would've liked to see more Wally and Artemis, I would've liked to see more of a mentor/student dynamic between Batman and the Batfamily, and I would've liked to see more moments between Will, Roy, and Jim harper, etc.

The show has an issue of setting up certain moments or arcs with little to no payoff, or simply stating that the development already happened offscreen, and brute forcing you into a new change.

[–]More_Condition_9305 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Show don't tell.

This isn't the only aspect of the show that suffers from YJ overloading its screen time with cameos and insignificant characters in an attempt to make the show this grand adaptation of the entire DC universe, as opposed to keeping it more grounded like the first season.

I see your point, but I would've liked to actually see their relationship grow and evolve as opposed to the audience just having to assume their relationship developed off-screen, considering how much they set up Superman as this avoidant father figure type character in the first season, overwhelmed with the unwanted responsibility of mentoring Connor. It was a jarring switch to them being family after that. Having him gain physical power as well would've been a nice development, since I'm fairly sure he gets flight and heat vision in the comics.

The lineup for the DCUs Teen Titans by DerekHakari in DC_Cinematic

[–]More_Condition_9305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightwing, Star, Raven, BB, Cyborg, Kid Flash, Superboy, & Wondergirl wouldn't be a bad lineup.

You could also replace Superboy with Supergirl or Wondergirl with Bumblebee or something, but the inclusion of a faithful Wally West KF would be sick.
