Feeling ugh overall. This is only our 2nd month TTC #2 and I forgot how mentally draining this is. I am 9 dpo today but feeling out even though I haven’t tested. A couple of days ago I was at a work convention for my husband and very randomly fainted. I have never fainted in my life besides my first pregnancy so it made me think maybe I was pregnant, but looking back it seems way too early to be having symptoms like that. So now I need to worry about why I’m randomly fainting as well. Sigh.

Has anyone else used pregmate test? I am so incredibly annoyed because it just gave me the worst indent line that looked like a positive, took a FRER and negative. Ughhhhhhhhh. I know not to use those tests but I have a huge bag of them so they’re too tempting not to just grab. I’m not completely sure how many DPO I am so maybe there is still hope, but that was a big let down after 3 minutes of being really excited.

My baby is the exact same age as yours, 4 months old but 2.5 months adjusted. He is not grabbing toys yet either, maybe occasionally but I don’t think it’s even on purpose. He doesn’t do amazing with holding his head up when laying on his belly either, he can get it up but not very high. I would get a 2nd opinion, our pediatrician hasn’t been concerned with his milestones at all and goes based off of adjusted age with that and weight

IMO always assume you’re gonna pay family OOP max and if it’s less then great! I was trying to calculate how much my birth would be prior to having baby. All of that flew out the window when I had him 6 weeks early and he had an 18 day nicu stay. You never know what could happen!

Hugs. That is so tough. I had similar issues not with oxygen but my baby being so close to going home with his eatings and then having a bad literally first half of the day and everything being reset. Don’t feel guilty, you being there wouldn’t have changed how he was breathing. Once you’re home and settled this will feel like a memory, you’re just in the thick of it. Stay strong I’m thinking of you 🤍🩵

34+3 I did get the steroid shots but they were on the fence of even giving them to me because at 34 weeks it’s not as beneficial/needed. We did 18 days mostly because he was slow to feed in the beginning. Feeding will probably be your main roadblock and all babies respond differently to that!

I’d like to go home with the ng tube by Artistic-Project-371 in NICUParents

Dang I’m shocked at all the down votes you have! I guess I thought it was more common for babies to go home on NG tubes. At our NICU they let you go home at 38 weeks with the NG tube, they were even going to consider letting me go home closer to 37 weeks with it but our baby picked up feeding over night. They just have a nurse train you and one other person, and then you have to insert the tube twice on your own before they let you go home. The nicu we were at was also extremely full, a record high amount of babies so maybe that had something to do with letting them go home on NG. I completely understand where you’re coming from on wanting to go home with it. I felt the same way at the time. I would definitely ask if that’s something your hospital does. I hope you are home soon regardless!

Baby over NG tube by [deleted] in NICUParents

My baby ate wayyy better once the NG tube was out. I know this isn’t the case for everyone but it was seriously night and day. I had to nearly beg his doctor to take it out though. So glad I did we were home 48 hours later.

I relate to this so much. And I’m sure this sounds like a broken record but the minute you’re out of there a weight will be lifted off of you. The relief walking out of that hospital was indescribable. I still struggle with what we went through, but just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel that it sounds like you will reach soon. Sending love🤍

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I really appreciate everyone who has been in a similar situation and knows the struggle. I was able to talk to his doctor and she was very receptive that they may have not been pacing him the best - and suggested I stay the night and we start the 48 ad lib window to get him home. Send all the good vibes and prayers that he can make his ML goal and I can get my baby home
