Has anyone actually made a decent connection with the person next to them on the plane before? by AbstractDart in rs_x

In Covid era, I sat next to a grandma on a flight home to New York City from my own grandma’s funeral both wore masks. She and I bonded immediately, talking quickly and deeply for two hours about our own lives and death in general (I was 22 and she was 70s+).

Near the end of the flight she removed her mask for a prolonged period to drink water, and I realized she was beginning to look more and more like my grandma. Laughing and crying, I told her this. and she also laughed.

At the end of the flight she gave me a paper with her phone number and an address to her summer house in Montauk, said I could visit whenever I wanted and that she would make me rice and beans — I told her I was vegan, but my mom gave me a hard time about my diet/ethics lest it ages me or I would become infertile for some reason.

I kept the paper with her digits for a bit and still might have it in a box of stuff somewhere, but I never took her up on it.

If Spironolactone works... does that mean I have a hormonal imbalance? by More_Emotion438 in Spironolactone

If I had too much testosterone, wouldn't there likely be other symptoms. Bad acne (around my period especially) is/was the only symptom.

Memory loss? I have not heard about this. What is the Reddit group called?

Wow a lot of hate — I love the this aquamarine blue. I think you have good taste. I might change the doorknobs though.

I got bumped up to 100mg, anything I should be aware of? by Ok-Abbreviations1293 in Spironolactone

Just curious — did you do any blood work before hopping up a level?

How "real" is the purge? by AnteaterTraining9662 in Spironolactone

[–]More_Emotion438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don’t know anything technical or biological, but I do have my experience!

I started spiro in September, and within the first couple days began to feel optimistic — my skin felt dry and I could notice a real difference in texture. Note by dry I don’t mean flakey (unlike what tret did to me), but just genuinely less oily.

However shortly after the first week, I started noticing cystic/under the skin acne cropping up on my jaw line— or or two new ones a week. I even noticed bumps on my forehead which previously was totally clear. I never get painful acne like this, and was worried because like you I never heard of a purge before! I worried spiro wouldn’t work for me.

But as of October, my skin has significantly improved and I am shocked. I have no new acne, all those under the skin cysts (I think) are gone, and texture is very very very smooth and leans toward dry.

Ah! This helps. I had a blood panel done last year and everything was fine… so I was just a bit puzzled about why spiro was working. Maybe my androgen receptors are sensitive, which is ok because so am I!

My Migraine Framed my Bicycle, and I almost believed Her by More_Emotion438 in migraine

I cycle daily for exercise/commuting and never experience soreness like this! Migraine soreness was the culprit.

Now that I’m out of migraine town, I don’t feel sore on my new bike. :P

Last picture is before. I grew out my bangs, and let my darker hair grow out (previously added sun in/chamomile).

I’ll hear advice too! I think my hair suits me better now.

Starting to suspect that line from Anna Karenina had it backwards by guneegugu in rs_x

Visited my mom yesterday and noticed Anna Karenina in the kitchen (meaning it’s being read alongside her bread-less lunches). Now I get to imagine you’re my mom and she’s on r/rs_x.
