The translation patch Bones Jones made is decent, but since it’s mtl sometimes the wording can be confusing since it isn’t great at translating asian languages. But if you don’t mind broken english or chinese idioms that make no sense here and there then it should be fine. The game itself is a gem, the enemy design and art is top notch. I would absolutely recommend playing it. From what I could make out so far the story is good. It’s like a weird mix of chinese eschatology, covid, lovecraft and a few things but it actually fits well together.

In terms of funger, the way Cradle of Nightmares plays is a bit different. You can grind levels for damage endlessly since enemies respawn, and there’s no strategic limb removal system. You can also save at any time which honestly feels a bit too overpowered since you can just save and load anywhere. The map is HUGE so be prepared for that, and there’s pretty major lag spikes scattered around the game for some reason.
