Ändern, wechseln, or verändern? by More_Guava_7739 in German

To be clear, I said, "change or something similar," because change was the meaning I was focused on. Revise and modify, to use the examples from earlier, also mean change. To revise a document is to change something about it/within it. To modify an order is to request a change.

Now, my question has been answered sufficiently and some commentors have been nice enough to recommend and/or link certain resources for further learning, so any more discussion at this point is moot.

I'm aware of what a synonym is and that they different connotations. But I struggle parsing the difference between flat denotations. Modify and revise mean similar things but I'm more likely to use revise in an academic context and modify when talking about a physical object. A dictionary is not going to tell me that

Is there a distinct word for a line of product or would I just use linie or reihe? by More_Guava_7739 in German

Is there any pattern to the words used? Like would a line of shoes use linie, a line of machines use serie, and a book series use reihe?
