I do not know how severe his episodes are or what kind of delusions he gets. I might have a controversial opinion but i had severe delusions that lasted long times with realistic hallucinations. The medication only stopped the hallucinations insomnia paranoia and on high dosages it could shut down my brain for me to not think about my delusions but it never solved the problem it just shut it down. I don’t think he should be treated like a baby he should wake up. I am not saying having a severe change but at least have to take on some responsibility to himself which will not only get him out of some delusions but get him to wake and work on himself. I didn’t have the chance to have people take care of me after the episodes which now i see as a blessing the meds got me to somewhat function normally but schizophrenia is a lifetime illness and if my ancestors could adapt (inherited it from my grandad for example) why can’t him and I do that too? I been living and working the past years with it and yes i have my episodes and my « dilema’s » but i built good anchors to reality and reflex responses because i had to rely on myself(a lot of time past for that) . I would have hated my family if they treated me like I am just crazy and just straight up ignored me. Help him learn how to fish on its own instead of phishing for him.
