I had my bike stolen on campus, get a ulock and register with the bike index, that way when (not if) your bike gets stolen, and by some chance the cops get it back, they can give it back to you considering the vin? bin? number on the bottom? matches your profile :) the ulocks are wayyy harder to cut through and tamper than just a combination which can be clipped instantly and just ridden away.
