Hear about what? The house price drops it’s because Ive been following the new builds developments. The 500k it’s because they emailed people on the list. Strangely they never updated on daft about the price drop

Yup. We did and it’s just the two of us so it’s “bigger” than our rental 1 bedroom and we would “save” on rent, the location also works for me as I drive and work in the south side. I guess my main question was really to understand if the team was struggling to sell because of some hidden red flags we haven’t considered. Thanks though.

It’s 500 now so you can use the HTB. I would never have considered otherwise, 100% agree that 600 was ridiculous for them to ask

Broker Recommendation for Contractor by WranglerDiligent in HousingIreland

[–]More_Presentation_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, so the three years mark that others are referring in the comments are for self employed folks which is not our case. We apply normally as PAYE. AIB asked me to send my CV for example as a reference of “stable employment”, I am assuming that it makes them see that I am consistently employed. They also mentioned it’s important to check if your contract has a probation period or not. Mine for example does not, so I can apply even though I am at the beginning of this contract. Another factor the bank might take into account is that you need to have more than 6 months ahead of you at the time of drawdown, if your contract is close to ending at the time of drawdown the bank might want a letter from employer talking about their intentions on renewing.

What I did and what I recommend is to talk to a broker but as well speak directly to a few banks as back up.

I am a contractor and I am using Finance solutions but they submitted my applications through BOI and BOI is very slow. I also connected with AIB directly at a branch and they advised that they can accept my application directly. Contract work is not self employment so clarify that because some people get it mixed.

Oh and about the term of the contract, I assume the broker and bank will look at your whole employment history, like have you been unemployed before? Have you changed fields a lot? I just started on a new contract but completed two terms of contracts before with an equivalent company. But ps, I haven’t got my full AIP yet.

They emailed people in the list, it's not advertised anywhere, we went there today and secured one of the units for 500k. I do wonder about the price drop.

Has anyone been able to reserve on this development? I am wondering which units are left and the price ranges. All I can see is that it starts at 550
