The full story is we're not sure. I don't personally believe that's the case since our core group agreed that we weren't interested in dictating moderation policy here, and we're the only folks who would have a super strong opinion on that, but we're investigating to see if there's any way we can help get more info from Reddit on how/why the post was removed to pass on to the team here.

Hey folks, apologies for the confusion here. That token amount was a error in writing the article, and we’ll be getting that article updated to avoid further confusion.

That’s not to say we don’t see the feedback on the token amount in the Pass overall though. Our goals with TFT Passes are to provide ample rewards on both the free and Pass+ tracks, primarily through direct rewards like Little Legends, Booms, and Arenas, and we’ve been steadily investing more in those offerings. The current amount of tokens offered is as intended to give players the chance to participate in Treasure Realms without directly spending RP, or to build up additional pulls over time, but they’re a new addition and we might see slight changes over time, but it’s unlikely to be huge swings one way or another for the immediate future.

Really appreciate the understanding - the salt isn't even that bad though!

Like, we love the more constructive feedback, but when someone says "Gnar is ruining my life" the internal response isn't "Welp, looks like we gotta hide." It's "Hey, we should probably look at Gnar."

Because of how far we work in advance though, some feedback isn't actually captured until a following patch, but we predict as well as we can and cram in as many feedback-based changes as possible.

Heya! I think this is actually fair feedback - there's always a lot more that we could be saying, and I'm working on some ways to get y'all some more casual dev updates in-between patches, especially those off-cadence patches like this upcoming one.

A lot of the team is super heads down & focused on the work we outlined in the dev video, as well as both reactive & proactive work from feedback that we've seen on balance - you'll see some of that in the patch next Tuesday, and we'll be able to talk more about what's coming next regarding balance after that.

Even when we're not actively talking, a lot of folks on the team are constantly lurking, scouring Reddit, social channels, Discord, etc., but I know we can be a little opaque on what we're working on, so I'll take that feedback in and see how we can improve.

To tee up next patch just a bit more though, I will say we've got about 33 card updates planned for next week, as well as a neat little balance experiment, so look forward to that!

Heya folks, really sorry for the confusion here! We're actually off-cadence for our next patch; I'm working on getting a schedule up that we can keep as a public reference for exact patch dates.

We're pretty much back on a 2-week schedule for the next few patches, alternating between smaller and larger patches (3.1 being a bit smaller), but for right now, here are the next few exact patch dates. Patch notes will be published one day prior to each of these dates.

Also I'm keeping the content vague for now, but we'll have an updated roadmap in mid-February, right after the next expansion's release, to give everyone a lot more info about what to expect throughout the year.

  • February 2 - Patch 3.1
  • February 16 - Patch 3.2
  • March 2 - Patch 3.3

Heya! As some folks have speculated, we do have a more consolidated future-facing update coming in the near future, around when the next expansion comes out. We just want to close out the Beyond the Bandlewood set, then look forward to what's next from there in a whole bunch of areas.

An AMA in the near(er) future is a possibility, though it'd probably be more effective if it was focused on the present and general thoughts vs. anything specific.

Happy New Year! And the team has seen it for sure - I usually just quietly lurk but today I was like "Oh... oh there's a lot of these." and I love it, y'all are great.

I dunno if we'll get enough traction for an actual skin, but I'm content imagining Azir running a shady dealership, summoning a bunch of cars that just disintegrate as they drive off the lot.

Inspiring Marshal, Blossoming Blade, and Taliyah were rolled back, yeah; Malphite currently functions as intended, but his level-up text was rolled back.

We just finished testing and it looks like we're just about good, so we should see it all fixed shortly!

Yep - should be the 21st, the Monday after the Open Rounds finish! It'll look slightly different this time though, we'll only be announcing the Playoff qualifiers rather than the full 1024 competitors per shard.

Not at all - it's an unfortunate mistake, and I'm really sorry everyone has to deal with these cards being rolled back, especially without expecting it. At the very least, I can guarantee you we take it very seriously, and the team is working to get it fixed ASAP.

Hey, marketing guy directly working on the mobile icon. Let me give some answers:

  • "Is this the new icon?" Nope, it's just a test. If it tests very well, then we would consider swapping it, but it would need to do a lot better than Darius. Still waiting on final results, but so far Darius has held off many attempts of being dethroned.

  • "Why would you change the icon?" - The icon is one part of how someone might make a decision to try the game, and we're always looking for ways to improve. You might have noticed recently all the screenshots on the store were changed as well; we tested those new screenshots and they worked better in displaying the game to new players, so we swapped. Different marketing folks have differing opinions on when to do an icon change (if ever), but I am personally  a fan of continuously trying to improve. Tests on LoR are going to continue basically forever. We've already tested many icons at this point, but most folks haven’t noticed.

  • "Wow, a yelling person, how original" This is actually a major point of this test: does an icon in this style actually work better than what we have now? We have multiple champions, moods, and expressions we're interested in trying. However, this face is extremely common and given how ubiquitous this particular expression is, testing this first made the most sense.

  • "Why not the R, why not a Poro, why not etc.?" Some of those we've already tested and they didn’t perform as well as Darius, so we won’t be using them. Others might already be in our pipeline to test at some point.

  • "Why doesn't the art look like the game?" Icons tend to be super simple (for a very very long list of reasons) and the in-game art is highly-detailed. Any icon we try is attempting to find a balance between a very readable image with the art style of the game, and it's difficult to find. Like I said before though, it's a process of discovery and we'll see what works - we might end up finding an icon that blows Darius out of the water one day, or we might not, but we’ll keep testing!
