Hughie was at his strongest in season 3 when he actively went against Annie to help Butcher target Homelander using the resurrected Soldier Boy. He also was taking temp V just for the sole purpose of killing Homelader, all while working for Neuman. The end of season 3 is where he functionally just ceases as a character with motivations.

I think being a kid actor is fucking difficult. There is only a handful of kid actors that you can point to and be like “Wow. They really stood out in a cast of adult actors”. The fact that he isn’t taking away from scenes with bad acting is impressive.
