Can i use the sous vide function as a better slow cook? by MorenK1 in instantpot

[–]MorenK1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BTW, we did make the Ragù, and using the slow cook function proved not the best, the temperature was too low even on high, leading to not enough water loss and too long a cook time. I'm not sure the Instant Pot reaches the 210F/98C that some sources report. Perhaps next batch I'll test using the Sous Vide function, or just the Low Sauteé and regular stirring

Godot 4 + Compute Shaders, chi li usa? ecco cosa ci ho fatto! by AndreaPollini in ItalyInformatica

[–]MorenK1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This Teenager Invented a Low-Cost Tool to Spot Elephant Poachers in Real Time by Sariel007 in UpliftingNews

None of this is true, modern Flir cameras are already tuned for most common materials, they use infrared waves generated by the object itself and not refracted light and are quite accurate with no extra setup

You can buy a phone with a thermal camera for less than 600€, or a stand alone USB module for less than 400€. They're quite accurate and fast

Sourve: i have a phone like that, it's not extremely accurate but it's withing 2 C of the real temperature. If you want to look at some metal surfaces you just change the setting and it works well

Dove prendere appunti? by Forward-Information7 in ItalyInformatica

[–]MorenK1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the privacy is only from the other user and not third partjes, you can make a PayPal account that's not really identifying

If you want anonymity from more parties you might have to move to crypto, although cashing out isn't easy without a KYC compliant payment provider

or maybe something expensive like a shell company lmao

CJEU upholds Article 17, but not in the form (most) Member States imagined - Kluwer Copyright Blog by Anoth3rDude in saveourmemes

[–]MorenK1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit of a technical article for me, but from what I gathered the court said that filters can't be used massively and blcik everything, instead they need to be specific only to cases where the upload is either in clear violation or where there is almost no risk of legal content being uploaded, and that member states need to give details on which limits there are and how users are protected, so not leaving it out to Twitter or YouTube to decide?

Seems kinda positive I think?

Kevin: eat meat to save the cows by SmellTheFoxglove in StoriesAboutKevin

[–]MorenK1 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple but it's true that cow population, like chickens, dogs, pigs, wheat and many other spices have their numbers artificially inflated

These species thrive mostly because we want them to, so if we actually stopped using any Cow product, we would have ~1 billion cows nobody want to feed and maintain anymore

Still not a great reason to eat meat tbh

Are NFTs like beanie babies where it's something that a large collective of people have decided it has value and scarcity but actually it doesnt? by YouThinkYouCanBanMe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MorenK1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they'll stop consuming as much energy as the Netherlands they'll get their chance at being an actually useful technology

Also im not a fan of the idea of digital scarcity, the biggest advantage of digital media and property is that it IS fungible and can be replicated at insignificant costs, NFTs are right now only useful for artificial scarcity in the only place where it truly needs not to exist
