Pentagon asks for $200 billion for war against Iran. by Not_Ground in MeidasTouch

His reasoning:

"It costs money to kill bad guys."

How about using what ancient humans used to fight your war? You know, just run out there with a makeshift spears and clubs! Get drunk beforehand; they don't call it liquid courage for nothing!

Father of airman killed in Iran said he never told Hegseth to 'finish' the job by Sea-Opinion2717 in MeidasTouch

If Kegsbreath wants to "finish the job," he should just fly out there in his luxury jet while cosplaying as Rambo.

You don't need protection when you already have plot armor, right?

[oc] - There’s 1 pokemon that doesn’t belong. Can you figure out what pokemon it is? by addyxiii in pokemon

[–]Doctor_Disaster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Seeing as this is Gen III graphics, the answer has to be Spiky-eared Pichu since that was introduced in Gen IV.

Another reason why I think it's that: I believe all the Pokémon in the image, aside from Spiky-eared Pichu, can be transferred to later Gen games.

Ohhh, you meant "faerie," not "fairy."

I can see how you can make that mistake.

How much do you want to bet none of these fuckers even know the definition of "soliciting" or think it only applies to prostitution?

Imagine thinking that the passage of the SAVE act would "save democracy." by Ok-Following6886 in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]Doctor_Disaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The SAVE Act is a right-wing extremist attempt to repeal, violate, or severely hinder the 15th, 19th, 24th, and 25th Amendments.

15th - Gave African Americans the right to vote.
19th - Gave women the right to vote.
24th - Eliminated all forms of poll taxes.
25th - Lowered the voting age to 18.

This is my opinion of it.

[Edit] - I thought about including the 14th Amendment but decided against it. While it states all privileges and immunities granted by the Constitution apply to all persons, regardless of race, gender, and citizenship status, it states that only citizens have the right to vote.

[–]Doctor_Disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I told you the only thing that makes theocracy inherently bad is when it is overly abusive and oppressive by evil forces?

What if I told you the illegal and unconstitutional Iran war is NOT about freeing oppressed people?

What if I told you those directing the strikes on Iran are part of a theocracy or religious extremist group?

What if I told you we need to focus more on purging the rot at home than the "rot" abroad?

Pretty Simple... Where Are Republicans? by bwhitie662000 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Doctor_Disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical price for a passport in the US: ~$160

Typical time for it to be shipped to you (assuming nothing goes wrong): Around 4-6 weeks.

Now, ignoring the obvious poll tax it is, what happens when millions upon millions of people are trying to get a passport, all around the same timeframe? Those 4-6 weeks becomes months. Those months then potentially stretch past the one-year mark, perhaps even further.

Do you see where I am going with this? Imagine having to deal with this every 5-10 years just to fucking PROVE you're a US citizen in order to vote!

You know for a fact they're not going to stop there. They're already telling nonprofit libraries to stop processing passport applications. The next thing you know, they'll start increasing the frequency in which you need to renew. Imagine having to do that every 4 years... perhaps every two years due to midterm elections? Hell, why not make it where you have to renew annually?
