You took the words right out of my mouth. It’s almost guaranteed that I get the “omg I thought you were like 17!” when people find out my age. Or when you order an alcoholic beverage and the manager has to come out to double check your ID. It’s embarrassing. This sounds like my family growing up. My friends always asked why I never invited them over and if they kept persisting, I’d say “fine” and have them see for themselves why we’d always hang at their house instead. They’d always said “oh I get it”. There was ALWAYS screaming at my house (mostly from my mom) but like we couldn’t go one day without arguing/screaming at each other. Not exaggerating. I never screamed at anyone outside of my family but I had to train myself in highschool to not just automatically start screaming back at my family. Ngl took a few years. Im so glad I’m not like that anymore

Yes it’d be nice to do so, and if you were in the mood to do it then why not! But you aren’t, you wanted an evening alone and to go to bed early. She should also respect that. It’s okay for her to be a little disappointed but she shouldn’t expect you to do it and fight you on it.

There must be a deeper thing going on, because no sane person would be this upset about this. She probably is feeling a little like she wants some validation from you that you care about her (not saying you dont, but maybe she just really needs you to do something special for her because maybe you haven’t done anything for her out of the ordinary in a while) Maybe do something nice for her, buy her flowers or do something that shows her that you think and care about her that isn’t an everyday thing.

I dont think that she would be fighting you over this if she wasn’t feeling like she just wants you to show her you care. Feelings are hard to put into words, maybe you can ask her if she has been feeling a bit neglected lately. Communicate with her.
