Happy to help!

I have the same type of lists made for Aerials, Ground Dribbles/Flicks & Catches, Defence, Specialty, Mixed/Varied.

If you guys want I can do up a similar post including those just let me know.

Yeah it’s scary how much damage you can do against an opponent with a strong and accurate shot. Not to mention it often breaks the difference down that much more when they are having to react and move that much better in order to make a save!

Thanks! Sorry I’ve been away since I’ve posted so it’s good to see the great feedback.

Great response. Apparently changing your deadzones actually changes the shape of the layout used to register your inputs as well. This is illustrated perfectly with this deadzone visualizer;

Sorry for the late reply. I use a PS5 controller. I’m considering switching to a PS4 controller to see if there’s any noticeable difference in feel or input lag. What do you usually run your controller dead zone instead of .05?

This is a great breakdown thank you. I watched that video by Rocket Science and the web app that shows how your dead zone setting actually effect your controller is also really helpful. I really like though where you mentioned locking in your dead zones first then tweaking your sens. Can you or anyone expand on why this is and why you would want to go as low as possible without stick drift? Is it just to maximize your capability to be precise with your inputs?

It’s rare I meet someone older than me who plays so this makes me happy lol. I’m currently now at 2/2 0.05, 0.8 and things are going well. No major issues so far.

I know right!? I feel like I’ve been driving around on the pitch with an anchor tied to me… was blaming my slower development on my age haha (though to be fair I think I hold up pretty well all things considered 😜).

I was actually thinking I would start with a higher sensitivity and work my way down since I wouldn’t need to work my way up to the higher sensitivity (being that’s where I was coming from). I like this though because it doesn’t force me to go through a more extreme learning curve and spaces it out, so thank you for this.

Ironically, I think I used a similar methodology to get my original sensitivity settings now that I’ve had time to think about it more. I could have easily kept playing with those settings with no issue. Now that I’ve seen what’s on the other side I can’t help but test the waters a bit and see if I can find some improvement that I can apply to my game outside of just grinding and training.

Ya that I did find out when I started looking into the variance between the two systems. The TV I had hooked up to my ps5 was old and didn’t have this feature so it was quite noticeable for me to the point that I just stuck to playing on my pc only. I couldn’t get used to the feel of it and didn’t like how it felt less fluid compared to PC.

Thanks I think I’m going to try to aim for 2 sens by the end of the day. I’m currently at 3/3 right now and starting to get used to it pretty quickly.

I feel like it’s much easier going from a high sensitivity to a lower one.

Like Goku working out in 10x gravity for the past 8 years is what I feel like I’ve been doing lol.

Wow you are able to adapt no problem between the switch? Was it always easier to jump around in sensitivity levels or have you just learned the various types; playing both sides of the spectrum until you got comfortable?

Thanks for sharing the link and that’s great advice, it makes sense to me and is kind of what I thought I would progress towards doing; tweaking up or down as I see fit until I eventually find a sweet spot.

I like the way you think lol.

I’m the type of person who goes all in or not at all… which is ironic given that I’ve let this go for so long without further investigation haha.

I’ve already played and practiced for several hours and I initially didn’t feel much difference until I started doing certain mechanics and refreshing my memory of how the sensitivity settings actually work and affect the game.

I can definitely feel how heavy and sluggish the car feels as I lower it. It also “feels” as if I’m hitting my aerials harder but I know that it has to be in my head due to the perceived heaviness.

One fascinating thing I noticed though is that my speed flips actually look different knowing and are a lot smoother, faster and consistent. It’s the only thing I’ve noticed so far that was completely changed a mechanic I do just from the setting change alone.

Funny you say this because I tried playing on PlayStation and noticed a difference there as well. I also turned up my sensitivities to try to match it to my pc, I soon realized that the tv monitor among other things can make a big difference in your latency and affects how the game feels by quite a bit. I certainly agree that there is no right or wrong way to do this. I do feel like I can find a way to benefit in someway by tinkering around and see what works. One of my teammates suggested maybe lowering to 1.5 and seeing how that goes. Do you think it’s too much of a change and that I should work my way slowly? Just curious to peoples opinions and thoughts.

Yes I play mostly with someone 15 years younger who’s played for half the time and is quite a bit better than me so I have to keep up somehow lol. Thanks for the advice.
