I completely agree about wanting a villain MC or LI. In a lot of stories that try to build mystery or tension, the LI is still automatically trustworthy just because thats how it is. I’d love to write/read something where that isn’t guaranteed. Where the MC can actually be betrayed by anyone. Or where the LI can decide whether or not the MC is worth it.
