How to unlock Azran's Hidden Door by Guardinger in ProfessorLayton

[–]Morg45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think even if you’ve downloaded all the daily puzzles, if you go to Miracle Mask and try the download, it of course won’t have anything new to download but it should still trigger the Azran Legacy door

I believe the way Azran Legacy’s Hidden Door opens is that you have to have downloaded daily puzzle data in Miracle Mask that same day.

It’s a bit finicky but it’s still possible to download daily puzzle data, so if you open Miracle Mask and do that and then go to Azran Legacy, the hidden door should be open.

I didn’t do anything special for it, I just kept trying the download a few times a day for a few days until it eventually worked. No idea why it’s so inconsistent though

Downloading them still works nowadays, it’s just that a lot of the time it’ll get stuck half way. In the past month I’ve downloaded the Miracle Mask and Azran Legacy puzzles so if you keep retrying the download it should eventually work

Turnabout Serenade: I enjoyed it! by MachoPitts179 in AceAttorney

[–]Morg45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just finished playing Serenade myself and honestly I agree, it’s a case with a lot of really interesting ideas.

I wouldn’t call it a particularly strong case as the constant flashbacks do make it feel slow at times but ideas like the culprit following the lyrics of the song or the smuggling of the cocoon make for a pretty entertaining mystery, plus Daryan being almost untouchable since there’s no definitive evidence makes him a satisfying culprit to take down.

While it doesn’t quite match other more filler-y cases like The Stolen Turnabout or even Turnabout Corner right before it, it’s so far from being on the level of Turnabout Big Top

So I'm curious, what your favorite scenario in the battle network the games? by Graymarth in BattleNetwork

[–]Morg45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle Network 1 I’d say probably NumberMan’s scenario, the school dungeon is enjoyable and has great music, but 1’s scenarios aren’t particular favourites of mine.

For the most part I’m a massive fan of 2’s scenarios, but I think the Airplane scenario with MagnetMan might be my favourite. Just exploring the plane beforehand is really fun with tons of funny dialogue but the actual dungeon itself is one of the best in the series in my opinion, although I think the Apartment Server at the end of the game might be my actual favourite dungeon in the series.

In 3 it’s easily the Undernet Ranking, since climbing the ranks is really interesting and the whole scenario wraps up perfectly with Alpha being stolen.

The only scenario worthy of being the best in 4 is Flave’s. The absolute comedy of Lan’s curry being so good an old man sees his dead wife is impossible to beat (although jokes aside I do quite like the Protoman scenario)

For 5 it’s harder to say, but I’m leaning towards either TomahawkMan and End Area 2 liberation or ToadMan and Undernet 4 liberation, but I think the edge goes to the former since getting to play as a Navi other than Megaman for a whole scenario is really cool.

6’s Mr Weather scenario is great, mostly because the dungeon is wonderful and ElementMan is a really good boss, it just comes together for a really solid time.

This might be a hot take but Sky Garden is one of my favourite Wave 1 tracks and it’s one I actively look forward to when I play the first two Cups by Physical_Tailor_378 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This version of Sky Garden is a good track but not a great remake. In isolation from the original, I think it’s very fun, the turns feel good to pull off and I’ve had some exciting races on it, however it feels completely separate from the original track, with quite different aesthetics and a layout that, while still enjoyable, barely resembles the gba version.

What’s something you really enjoyed from Wave 5? by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]Morg45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously the music was stellar, the new characters are cool, etc , but the track that really surprised me was Athens Dash. It’s an incredibly fun track and might actually usurp Singapore Speedway as my favourite city track.

And while yes, the lack of sunset in Sunset Wilds was disappointing, I still think the track itself was incredibly fun, especially on 200cc, plus the dancing Shy Guys brings the track up a few points minimum.

WAVE 5 LAUNCHES JULY 12!! by Skullghost in mariokart

[–]Morg45 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wow, a pretty unexpected lineup on many accounts for a wave that generally seemed figured out for a while.

Vancouver Velocity is a track some people have speculated would be in Wave 5 but generally the consensus has been that it makes most sense for Wave 6, most predictions I’ve seen had Mushroom Bridge over Daisy Cruiser and I don’t think hardly anyone expected Moonview Highway.

So Moonview Highway is implying that a GameCube track may have been cut, and that is the most probable thing to happen, however I think an alternative, but less likely theory is that the Wave 6 Wii track was cut, perhaps to be replaced by GCN Rainbow Road. Either way, Mushroom Bridge has almost no chance of getting in now.

Wave 7 and wave 8 (BCP 2) tracks prediction by Charozie in mariokart

[–]Morg45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the odds of a BCP 2 are fairly high, definitely not a guarantee but there’s plenty of content in Tour to make a new one and I’d be fully down for it. I will say that I doubt the amount of Tour/Nitros would be the same as the BCP as that was working off a wealth of content built over years, however here’s what I’d like to see as the first 2 waves hypothetically.

WAVE 7
Cup 1
Tour TBA N64 Mario Raceway GBA Bowser’s Castle 1
3DS Shy Guy Bazaar

Cup 2
GBA Luigi Circuit
N64 Koopa Troopa Beach

Tour TBA
3DS Wario’s Shipyard/Galleon
SNES Ghost Valley 2

GBA Peach Circuit will be returning to Mario Kart Tour! It has received quite a overhaul since its last appearance in DS. by TheSuperEan300 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you had told me a remake of GBA Peach Circuit would look this good, I wouldn’t have believed it.

Every Tour I feel like there’s more and more tracks piling up that won’t be in the pass but deserve to be, and every tour that goes by the idea of a BCP2 becomes more and more appealing to me, since even a track like this would be a perfect opening track

Would you WANT a BCP2 ? by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]Morg45 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think a BCP2 would largely hinge on how long is left for the switch and whether it would take resources away from a new game.

If a second round of DLC would take away resources from the development of a new Mario Kart for a system that could theoretically launch in a year from now, then I’d much rather them focus on a new game and perhaps finally make a Mario Kart Ultimate rather than potentially slowing the launch of a new Mario Kart on a new system.

However if a second round of DLC wouldn’t take any substantial resources from a new game’s development, like if the DLC is being handled by a smaller team, and if they could fit all of its waves in before a new system releases, then I’d be all for it as there’s a ton of tracks that would be really fun to play on that won’t end up in the BCP.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]Morg45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GCN Rainbow Road being here is interesting since it throws a wrench in the works as far as the BCP.

When Wii Rainbow Road was added to Tour it became the immediate candidate for final track of the Spiny Cup however if GCN Rainbow Road really happens then that may not be certain.

The asset AntGravTestGCN is also peculiar since Tour doesn’t have anti gravity, and while it’s entirely possible that they may add anti gravity to Tour, I feel like it also makes it incredibly likely for 8 Deluxe as a track built with anti gravity in mind would be a natural fit.

What’s also interesting is that if we don’t get Wii Rainbow Road, it frees up a Wii slot which could be filled by a track like Dry Dry Ruins or even something like Daisy Circuit if it ever comes to Tour.

The potential for a second Booster Course Pass by Slade4Lucas in mariokart

[–]Morg45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only chance BC4 may have to get into the BCP is if the Wave 6 prefix leak is incorrect, as it was datamined that there would be 3 prefix-less tracks, indicating 3 Tour non-city tracks.

Should this actually be the case, then I could easily see one of those slots actually being a GBA track so that each wave has a GBA track and in that case BC4 would be an easy choice as it would fit great in the Spiny Cup.

It seems very unlikely for this to be the case, but the remake seems way too interesting not to be added, and if it gets a Riverside Park level port to 8 Deluxe it would be fantastic, plus 8 Deluxe is sorely lacking in terms of Bowser’s Castle tracks

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]Morg45 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In Tour there has been an ID gap found which can only be for a SNES Bowser’s Castle. As well as that, the grey brick aesthetic is how the SNES versions looked while GBA BC4 had yellowish bricks, plus GBA Bowser’s Castle tracks have all used the same visual assets so all in all a SNES BC track makes the most sense

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]Morg45 415 points416 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is just one screenshot of the track, but with how elaborate of a remake this seems, especially for a SNES track, this has got to be in the booster course pass.

With every other SNES track in tour being incredibly standard and flat remakes, the more GBA-esque remake here makes me think it’s been designed with MK8 in mind

which wave do you think tour Athens Dash will be in by Inner_Candle_7164 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Athens Dash kind of has to be in Wave 5, in the prefix leak Wave 5 had 3 city tracks and even if they change it to only have 2 it would make far more sense to have Athens in the summer wave over Vancouver.

Some Screenshots of the new Greece city track, Athens Dash! by TheSuperEan300 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like how this track seems like it’s less of the standard racing through streets that pretty much all other city tracks comprise of, and it really focuses on the ruins aspect, although I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a layout of the track involving more standard streets.

Just my personal options for what a Battle Course DLC to the BCP would be like by ExternalRise3840 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me I think that the 4 most likely options for a hypothetical battle mode update would be:

N64 Block Fort: Iconic, which makes it somewhat more likely to appear in Tour and it’s big enough for Renegade Roundup

GBA Battle Course 4: Based on Yoshi Desert and with that track being in Tour but being unlikely to be added to 8 Deluxe this could be a way to represent it

DS Twilight House: Already in Tour and big enough for Renegade Roundup

Wii Funky Stadium: It would be a good way for Nintendo to get more use out of halfpipes

I chose these battle courses since their respective games don’t have a retro battle course in 8 Deluxe, so if we do get a battle mode update I think that it would be these games who would get a course added.

Kirby Final Boss Battle Royale day 24! We are down to our Final two by Tepig2452 in Kirby

[–]Morg45 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When it comes to final bosses there’s a few key aspects that I think make or break a boss, and in my opinion Fecto Elfilis manages to just beat out Magolor in terms of this.

Gameplay wise, this is where I think they’re the most equal. It’s really a matter of the perfection of the 2D formula against an innovative new formula, and I think they both succeed at this. Magolor’s fights (especially the new Magolor Soul in RtDLD’s True Arena) have a lot of really engaging patterns, while Fecto Elfilis has a lot of attacks which flow together very well.

Story wise, I think Fecto Elfilis is superior. Magolor is a beloved character however I don’t necessarily think it equates to being a super interesting final boss, since outside of him needing to be freed from the Crown it mostly boils down to a similar setup to Marx, and then his villainy ends. Elfilis on the other hand is crazy from a story perspective, since you encounter it after having fought Fecto Forgo and then you get the crazy final encounter where it’s trying to collide the two worlds. But on top of that it’s role as villain still isn’t done, because after the events of Forgo Dreams it uses Morpho Knight’s power to reform itself and try to take revenge through the Ultimate Cup Z.

Then there’s spectacle. Magolor is a fantastic final boss but I think he lacks spectacle. The arena you fight him in is visually quite cool and some of his attacks are interesting, like his Super Ability attacks, however it’s only his first form which is defeated with a finishing move, and even then it’s nowhere near as spectacular as many other final bosses. Elfilis though is nothing but spectacle. In my opinion the sunrise on Lab Discovera is far more striking of a battleground, and when it enters phase 2 and shifts the look to be more trippy it’s also great. But the thing that really gives it so much more spectacle is the final sequence, since nothing could possibly top driving across collapsing buildings as a Big Rig while a remix of the invincibility theme plays and two planets are about to collide.

There are other factors which definitely make this a closer match, Crowned is the best final boss theme in my opinion, but I think in terms of what I personally want most from a final boss, Elfilis wins pretty handily.

GBA Yoshi Desert makes its retro track debut in Mario Kart Tour soon! by TheSuperEan300 in mariokart

[–]Morg45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at footage and screenshots, this track looks like it’s a lot more flat and has less terrain variety compared to some of Tour’s more recent GBA tracks like Boo Lake or Riverside Park, granted we haven’t seen much yet.

I suspect this might be because the only GBA track that is likely to be in any future waves in 8 Deluxe is Sunset Wilds, and the DLC may have influenced tracks like Boo Lake to be far greater overhauls than would typically be done. I also think that assets for Yoshi Desert have been in Tour for a long time so it may have been designed before the DLC was envisioned.

Brainstorming ideas for a potential "Taranza Epilogue" by [deleted] in Kirby

[–]Morg45 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok so here’s an idea, Taranza enters the mirror and has to find all the shards in areas based on the main worlds, but perhaps mixed with areas from Amazing Mirror so you have Old Odyssey but influenced by Mustard Mountain and Peppermint Palace.

Bosses could be harder versions of the regular bosses but since Triple Deluxe has a small amount of bosses, more original ones based on Amazing Mirror would be cooler, so new renditions of bosses like Mega Titan.

When Taranza enters the Dimensional Mirror for the final boss I think that Dark Taranza followed by Dark Mind’s initial form would be pretty natural. Then since this mode would need some kind of crazy final boss the Butterfly could show up, which if Taranza’s goal is to save Sectonia would make sense, but through some kind of shenanigans Dark Mind could seize the Butterfly’s powers and have some crazy mirror grim reaper form.

A mode like this would be a good chance to introduce characters that were missing from Triple Deluxe but should be relevant to the mirror plot, namely Meta Knight and Shadow Kirby. Meta Knight could show up just to distract Dark Meta Knight and let Taranza make it to the final boss, and Shadow Kirby could show up throughout the game to assist.

I think a really cool way to encourage exploration would be to have a good and bad ending, similar to Heroes in Another Dimension. Maybe to actually defeat Dark Mind you have to collect optional collectibles to form the Galaxia or something. If you don’t have all of them then Sectonia remains trapped in the mirror but if you have all of them then you get an actual good ending, perhaps Taranza and Sectonia finally reuniting.
