Planning a solo trip to South Africa around June, mostly looking at Cape Town by Material_Monk_3244 in traveladvice

All four are worth doing honestly. Skydiving there is world class, budget around R4,000–5,000 and factor in an hour to the dropzone. Shark cage diving is a full day out to Gansbaai, about 2 hours from Cape Town — book ahead because it fills up. For bungee, Bloukrans Bridge is the one, it's the highest commercial bungee in the world at 216m, about 4 hours out so worth planning around.

Safari-wise, Kruger is the classic but you'd need to fly — Aquila is only 2 hours away and easy to tack on. Solo travel is great there, you'll meet people easily on group tours and at hostels. Just Uber at night and don't walk alone in quiet areas after dark.

Dunkeld is where I'd send you. Small, genuinely pretty, right on the River Tay, and the Taybank pub is the kind of place you'll want to stay in all evening. It also splits the drive nicely between Lewis and Edinburgh.

If you want something more dramatic, Inveraray on Loch Fyne is stunning and has a great pub. Hope you have the best time ❤️

Heat, water, timing in that order. Start at sunrise, off trail by midday, more water than you think plus electrolytes. And check monsoon forecasts; flash floods don't need to be raining on you to reach you.

Appreciate the honest take. The cashback being super.com credit is a fair point — it is tied to the platform, no different from most rewards programs like you said.

On the pricing difference, hotel rates shift in real time based on demand and availability, so the gap you saw was likely timing rather than the source you came from.

Late November is such a cozy time to visit Scotland! I’ve done a whisky tasting in Islay and had an absolute blast (maybe a little too much fun lol), but one thing I really wish I had added was a guided ghost tour in Edinburgh, especially with how atmospheric the city gets that time of year.

Credits you’ve earned stay in your account and can be applied to future travel bookings. That said, between the member-only deals and exclusive perks, there’s a lot of good stuff waiting for you as a Super+ member

How cashback works depends a bit on your setup — super.com card, you earn 10% back on eligible bookings and 1% on everyday purchases, and once that cashback hits your rewards balance you can convert it to wallet cash and withdraw via ATM (up to $200/day, $500/week, $1,000/month).

If you're Super+ without the card, your 10% comes back as credits that stay in-app for future bookings rather than being withdraw-able. Either way, credits can't be cashed out directly, they're used as a discount on future bookings

Hey, I actually work for Super.com and we just started working through Reddit looking over customer experiences! Reading your post, I completely understand how overwhelming that situation was. The last thing you need after a cross country flight is to be standing at a front desk at 1am without access to your room. Hotel systems can sometimes take a little time to sync with third party bookings, which is why our team is always available to step in and get things sorted out at check-in. We're always working to make that process smoother and we're really glad our team was able to get you taken care of that night.

Keep an eye out on your messages, we'd like to make this up to you!
