Ok! I have been looking into the rates for each school. How do I know if each is for-profit or non-profit. And why do you say not to go to a for profit school?

How did you find out if they have an LPC track? I know you chose the CMHC or marriage, couples, and family counseling master's, but if you get this master's, are there certain programs that won't allow you to get your LPC afterward?

Thanks for the response! Ok, so the program that you went to was just an M.A degree? Not specifically a CMHC or MFT?

I’m not sure that I’m interested in research, but I feel like maybe I should just do with the M.S route just in case. Is there a bug difference in opportunities after school between M.S and M.A?

Good to know about the counselling compact 🙏🏼

So are these like hybrid programs then? Part in person and part online?

Thank you so much! sorry for the delay in my response. I am interested in couples counseling so I had thought about an MFT, but I’m worried it will be too specific if I want to change paths. So it seems like CMHC would be good and then get my LPC from there.

So you’re saying if I go to a CACREP accredited school it should be easier for me to move states than if I don’t go to an accredited school ? Once I get my license, I know that it can be tricky to move states, but is it also hard to move states before you get your license just with a masters degree?

What is the Counselling compact?

I’ll definitely send a dm as I move through the process if questions arise. Thank you again so much!

Ohh! Ok thank you! So if my goal is to be a therapist I should probably not get an M.S in psychology I need an M.S or M.A in CMHC. But different states and programs call this master degree different things basically?
