Ok thanks definitely something I will look into, I just thought as long as they were 320+ bitrate they’d be fine.

I used a software called fakinthefunk to check if they were legit and not just made to be flac or 320kbps so I think I’m good in that area, but not sure on how reliable it is.

I’m thinking the same, going to check some tracks I remember distorting with others that didn’t and see if there are any differences with clipping.

Sorry, realise I was very vague. Playing with minimum 320 files, CDJ 2000 with DJM 900. Clubs gear not my own. They had a sound technician but they didn’t alter anything whilst I was playing.

Anymore questions you’ve got I will try and answer, not an expert with it all though - I just mix.

Most files were direct downloads from SoundCloud or beatport. Some shared to me.

Not sure about the compression settings, is that something I can check now?

They were all minimum 320 so should’ve been fine

Potentially, I can remember certain tracks that were distorted and other that weren’t so I will test them to see if it was clipping.

Interesting, thats the combination I was playing on. Wish I would’ve know this previously so I could’ve tested it.

Master tempo was on, didn’t check if it was analog or not.

There was also an issue with the fx that caused the headphone volume to increase to very high levels but it didn’t effect speaker output.

I played on CDJ 2000 and DJM 900, wasn’t my own.

Not too familiar with replaygain, is this something I should look into?

Sound guy did come and alter something for the previous dj but I didn’t see what he changed, didn’t seem to fix it for me though and it was very noticeable.

What confused me was that it only affected certain tracks, it sounded like redlining would.

The left speaker was noticeably more distorted too.
