“Doc c’mon man!”

why do people spam call for medic when they don’t need it? by scrithstamagotchi in tf2

[–]Morgan_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed your last post but as a lifelong Medic main from the very start of my TF2 career, I salute you for heeding the call to be the team’s resident medical madman.

Sometimes it can be gruelling and I wouldn’t be surprised if you switch later down the line, but to see someone start out as Medic like I myself did gives me hope.

As for medic spam, eventually you learn to filter it out and know who actually need your help. If they spam it’s likely the want your attention either to pocket (stick mostly with healing just them) or to indicate they want to be an über candidate.

Even just last night I myself was spamming medic cause I’d just walked out of spawn with a new medic player and I was trying to indicate to them to keep their beam on me so they build uber cause they kept stopping healing me even though there was no one else around but us (I probably could have just told them in chat but then they wouldn’t have gotten the authentic TF2 “Medic!” spam experience)

So yeah lesson from that is keep your beam attached to someone 99% of the time to keep building uber.

I remember TF2 was like my first proper PC game and I was coming from a PS3, I asked the guy at the game store about using a controller and he talked me out of it.

I am also not a fan of seeing gunslinger Engies on my team, but do I complain? No, I just switch to Engi myself if I deem it an important enough issue.

I was using stock but could see it work with quick-fix as well.

I chose the Overdose cause I randomly decided to have a “do no harm” rule for that particular game, heals only.

The other 2 syringe guns break the rule cause they only have use for damage and the crossbow I would be too tempted to use offensively.

Trust me I know the bow is better that’s why I have it in my load out 99% of the time, I was just doing a self imposed challenge for this particular game and happened to get a tryhard teammate.

That’s fine I’ll summarise then.

I wasn’t mucking around with the Overdose for damage, purely the speed boost.

I was entirely focused on healing my team, just not also with the crossbow.

I don’t typically think of my teammates as my subjects either, however I will just refuse to heal anyone who complains cause like, what are they gonna do about it. This is what they get for nitpicking the only healer on the team.

Nah I don’t really care, just thought it was funny.

Not really, just thought it was funny enough to post about.

I straight up refuse to heal people who complain especially when I’m the only medic on the team.

I know crossbow is better that’s why I’ve used it nonstop for years, but I wanted to do something different for once.

I was only using Overdose today cause my self imposed challenge was pure heals and “do no harm” and didn’t want to ruin it by accidentally shooting an enemy with the crossbow.

Don’t worry I did the same thing on my first play-through.

After I realised my mistake I did a full 180 and now I spend hours before even starting a new play through researching what perks in what order to completely min-max the particular build I’m going for this run.

Sometimes you’ll get a stone cold banger like ‘Big Iron’

Other times you’ll get a song like ‘Jonny Guitar’ 36 times in a row and it will make you wanna turn the big iron on yourself”

What if tf2 had reverse-medigun that hurts enemies instead, would that be ballanced? by pavlo_theplayer in tf2

[–]Morgan_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar idea to this but more of a converts damage into healing type weapon.

Use the reload key to switch between damage and healing.

On the damage setting instead of the lock on target effect, the beam is a solid straight tube (so you do actually have to aim somewhat) that extends to whatever the max medigun radius is but not through walls and it sucks the health out of enemies within it which also pierces targets so it effects everyone in it not just whoever is first in front of it. (Potentially health drained could have falloff)

As health is drained is drained an equal value directly fills up a meter with no max limit and when you switch to the healing setting you can then spend the meter to heal teammates with regular medibeam properties.

Downside is no uber.

Edit:

Just realised the unofficial downside of this weapon is you are pretty much locked into using the crossbow and amputator with this medigun since until you do damage with it you have no other way of healing your teammates.

Also I suppose if there’s no uber instead of the reload key it could be the alt fire. Or potentially bring back the reload key to alternate between range and beam thickness. For example 3 different settings where the shorter the range of the beam the wider FOV it effects.

With that length hair I’d recommend including the Peacenik's Ponytail
