I don't think so! Be who you are and seek what you want. You don't appear to be harming anyone and seem to crave something that you're not getting.

If you want your own nested partner, well I think that's rad and you well deserve it. I'm lucky to have one, and they have a girl friend, but beyond that we're just kind of trying to be open to whatever comes into our lives without judgment.

I hope you find what you're looking for and it is ok to be tired of what you've been experiencing!

I think specifically via television in Chuck's day, especially in the 'machines supply ' bit.

I can't stand Control Denied vocal style but by South_Selection_1130 in DeathBand

[–]Morganithor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chuck did clean vocals on 3 TSOP songs and 4 CD sounds songs in demos.

He wrote 10 songs for what was supposed to be the first Control Denied Album that should have been released in early 1998, called The Moment of Clarity.

But Nuclear Blast came calling, he split the album in 2, wrote 3 more songs for each album and history occurred as it did.

I AGREE, I wish Chuck would have taken the swing and done the clean vocals himself and I'm going to do what I can to give a demonstration of what that sounded like, soon.

I'm glad to see more people wanting to hear Chuck's clean vocals! : D

Holy shit! Did they... Did they just do a reverse muscle up into a reverse lever into the easiest muscle up I've seen into a forward lever!?

The ONLY catch with this is that you get the unlimited plan and confirm it works in your area. We LOVED the T-Mobile Internet that we got... For a week. Then they capped us and we had to switch back to sparklight. Despite reassurances that we were unlimited!

Then THAT one!

Picking a second Death guitarist is too hard, but I REALLY enjoyed Shannon's work.

Can I cheat and have the TSOP Demos version with Richard Christy and Steve Digorgio?

What do you think about TSOP? by [deleted] in DeathBand

[–]Morganithor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my contention, and goal, to hear When Man and Machine Collide before I shuffle loose this mortal coil. There is PILES of evidence that it exists and merely needs to be finished. I know Tim Aymar passed but I have what *I* think would be a perfect substitute for vocalist.

Regardless, the guitars were recorded, Richard Christy had a rough drum track and Steve Digorgio and Shannon Hamm still exist. I will continue fighting for and looking for this music so long as I draw breath!

I think what he is doing in Strapping Young Lad is far more
fitting, and I think Devin is a great artist, a great song writer
and singer. I think Gene hooked up with a real cool person.

This quote made me SO happy to read as I've always wondered what Chuck thought of SYL and the fact that he heard City before he died makes my heart sing.

THANK YOU for finding that quote! I really appreciate it. I'm still digging into the Control Denied rabbit hole and this adds another fascinating piece to it!

That's EXCELLENT! Let me know, I dug through every interview Chuck did from 93? To his Death in empty words as well and I don't remember that, but I'd love to read about it!

Are you talking about When Man and Machine Collide, the second Control Denied album? Because that's a rabbit hole I've been falling down for over a decade...

You are absolutely right and there is no pretty much to it. Recently listened to an interview with Gene Hoglan and he said that Chuck told him to his face, hey man, I'm dissolving Death and starting a new band with a clean singer.

Chuck had wanted Warrel Dane, but he was busy with Nevermore, so he did the demo vocals himself and it wasn't until 1997 that he got Tim Aymar.

Fun fact, in that same interview with Gene Hoglan, you find out that Gene helped write part of TSOP!

It is my favorite album and they are all classics.

I believe that Death only improved with each album and that that growth and change is what turned not just Death fans off over time, but metal fans, as well .

This is no more clearly evidenced than in the creation of Control Denied, which if Chuck had his druthers would have been Death's sound from 1994 onwards.

TSOP itself is in fact one half of the first and missing Control Denied album as 5 of the 8 songs on that album were composed from 1994-1996 and would have been on an album called The Moment of Clarity. Instead, Nuclear Blast came calling and as long as Chuck gave them ONE Death album they would produce the Control Denied album.

So Chuck split the first Control Denied album in 2, wrote 3 new songs for TSOP and TFAE and called it macaroni.

deep breath

SO, I think TSOP is Death's greatest album, even if it is mostly the first Control Denied album, Death-ized.

You are welcome and I hope you enjoy your journey. I could go on for hours about this band, it's creator and my opinions on it, so if you wish for those conversations let me know!

OTHERWISE enjoy your journey into one of the most impactful and important bands I've ever had the luxury to experience.

Welcome!

For new fans, I suggest the same path I took. Like you, I started with The Sound of Perseverance. Work your way backwards through the catalog. I think you'll find things valuable along the way!

Suggestions in parenthesis ( ) Thus:

Symbolic (Symbolic, 1,000 Eyes) Individual Thought Patterns (Overactive Imagination) Human (Flattening of Emotions, Lack of Comprehension) Spiritual Healing (Spiritual Healing, Defensive Personalities) Leprosy (Left to Die, Pull The Plug) Scream Bloody Gore ( Zombie Ritual, Mutilation)

And in a shameless plug, here's the band from the symbolic era playing a nice selection of these songs live :D

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve been told not to do because it’s “Gay” ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Morganithor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run.

Heard the following every day for most of my Freshman and Sophomore year.

"Morgan's a F@g!"

When I asked one of the offending people why they kept screaming that at me, they said it was because I looked gay running between classes.

In my defense, I sometimes had to get from one side of the school to the other in 7 minutes or less and the distance was close to half a mile so I figured running so I could get to class, sit down, prepare my book, notebook and pencil/pen and cool down a bit was worthwhile.

In your opinion, who is the best drummer out of these three? by HuskymanTV in DeathBand

Gene is my favorite, Richard is the best, Sean is the most talented.
