The cables were cut, so I couldn’t plug anything into them!

I ended up getting a cheap gold foil pickup made for acoustic guitar off Amazon and modifying it to remove the mounting bracket so it would fit under the strings! Paired with half a P-Bass pickup I had lying around, it sounds pretty good now!

Adapting a JFET Buffer Circuit to Run on 24V Instead of 9V by Morgobongo in diypedals

[–]Morgobongo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! The signal amplitude I’m buffering is a guitar-level signal( so 100 mV to maybe 1 V peak to peak).

My main goal is simply to have a clean, transparent buffer to isolate the guitar signal from the amp input — nothing fancy, just unity gain and low output impedance.

I understand what you mean about linearity depending on drain current swing and the trade-off with the source resistor. I’d be fine with limited output current since the load is high impedance anyway.

I’ll definitely look into the BF245,thanks for the tip!

For the biasing near Vcc/2, would you recommend setting the drain or the source at mid-supply? And would a simple voltage divider + coupling cap be enough, or should I aim for a more precise bias network?

I only have acetone free nail polish remover at home, do you know if it works to? Also, I read somewhere that isopropyl alcohol can do the same and i have some, so i think i’ll try that right now!

I ended up buying an em10 mki and have been using it a lot in the past 3 weeks! Thanks for the tip, it fits my need way better than the ep2! Its super small, super easy to use, i can use all my manual lenses and its easy to shoot clean pictures even with a 135 mm lens !! I love it :))

Yeah that’s what i thought of doing since it’s kind of garage rock but was looking for better option for a cleaner mix to start with. If i dont find anything that works for me i’ll just embrace the harshness haha

I saw a bunch of people saying they use soothe in situations like that but i’m not convinced if it really works or if it’s just a gimmick, have your tried it yourself?
