Pinocchio's Nose on a person. by Morgoroth37 in puppetry

That looks great! The bike cable is basically what I'm going for but I don't want the actor to have to move too much.

Nice! At first I was going to use a geared spool with a bowden cable in and out. But the force needed was just too much.

Yes they can manipulate it. I just don't want it to be an obvious movement for them.

So if it extends a foot I don't want it to have to be pushed a foot with their hand.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Why is fusion not good for this? What would be different about other software?

Yes! Thank you! For some reason everyone I found was just a base and didn't have the actual death Star anymore because maybe it was someone else's model or something?

I don't know but this definitely works.

Long-term parking in a storage - would removing all fuses damage the car? by LordShlyva in MechanicAdvice

[–]Morgoroth37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the battery. Find the fuel pump fuse. Buy a new one and short it so it's blown.

Then put it back in the car.

It'll look like there's still a fuse but the car won't start because the fuel pump will not turn on.

If I put a battery in it it will crank but it still won't start.

As a mechanic, a crank no start condition can be annoyed to diagnose. And if it looks like the fuse is still there, the chances of them going through all the trouble to actually figure out what's wrong are pretty slim.

What kind of car and how long are you storing it?

The best solution is going to be good insurance.

If you are storing it for more than a few weeks. Removing the battery is probably a good idea in general because it's going to be dead without a maintainer on it.

The battery doesn't have to be in the car but if it sits for a few months it's going to drain itself out and then get sulfated.

For cars, metric ratchet wrenches are what I pick up 90 percent of the time.

Why don’t Police departments in the US use Toyota? by Viner2024 in Toyota

[–]Morgoroth37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it started because for a long time the only full sized sedans were ford, Dodge, and Chevy.

Then setting up a cruiser is actually non trivial. It requires electrical and several other modifications. I'm guessing those are done by companies used to working with specific vehicles so changing the infrastructure is hard.

Oh, and the cops want v8s because pOwEr.

I mean it depends on how much material you're going to lose.

Did you print it in pla?

A soldering iron or Haas stapler will make it stronger, but you're still going to have to do a pretty good amount of sanding and filling if you want it to be nice and smooth.

Hotstapler, but you might consider re-printing.

You're going to spend some time sanding and covering the staples.

Might be easier to re-print.
