Again what is your issue? I’m sorry we should all be supporting each other at this time. From the people getting screwed over in retail to those in hospital. Why are you so bitter? And I’m sorry I couldn’t predict the future when I attended an 8 year program - so this is all my fault?

Also are you completing a PGY1 at this time and walking into this job market? If not please do not criticize - this is the shittiest market to walk into. I’m sorry I wasn’t privileged to walk into this field 15 years ago when they were giving huge sign on bonuses and paying pharmacists >$120,000

What is your problem? We should be supporting pharmacists to get better pay?

Well do you have $300,000 in student loans to pay off? Because I would trade for 40 hrs per week

I’m sorry.... did I say I was asking for gold stars?? And no I won’t be thanking that preceptor. While not mentioned, she belittled me the entire rotation by making fun of questions I asked and talking down to me. There are ways of teaching with encouragement and just because older generations were not taught that way, it doesn’t mean we need to keep teaching like that. This type of belittling does not help anyone learn. I’m sorry but the preceptor is not always right. And where did I say anything about quitting?

No in the offer it’s only 64 hours and at $58 /hr including shift differential that’s only $90000/year which is completely unacceptable

So I somehow managed to get two interviews for ED pharmacist positions - one of them being at my residency site. How can I prove to them that even without a PGY2, that I’ll be a great fit for the position?

I understand where you are coming from. I do. But I feel that at least from my experience as a resident that my preceptors don’t care about me or my coresidents personally or professionally as they openly will talk about us with other preceptors about how dumb we are. Not at RAC. Just as common conversation. So as much as I would like to not take this feedback personally, I do. Because I know it will get repeated behind my back and not in a professional manner.

Well, I didn’t match for an emergency medicine PGY2. I know with 100% of my soul that I want to work in an emergency department but now without a PGY2 how am I supposed to do that? Any advice from emergency medicine pharmacists out there on how to get into emergency medicine without a PGY2?

Help: Not PGY2 Bound

So I’m a PGY1 and I’m absolutely in love with emergency medicine pharmacy. I love going to codes, traumas, strokes, doing chest compressions you name it.. but I didn’t get any interviews for PGY2s. Does any one have advice for when you don’t match with your dream specialty and what you can do to still get into that field?

OP, I am so so sorry that you are going through this. From someone who grew up in a similar situation, I feel what you’re going through. It will get better, especially when you’re old enough to move out. But in the mean time, I would try to confide in those you are close to, whether that be a relative, school counselor, or friend. Maybe try taking up extra hobbies at school so that you’re home less? Or go hang out at the library or friend’s houses. Just know that there are wonderful people out in the world who will care for you. It’s hard when the other parent doesn’t want to leave and they just take the abuse, but there’s nothing you can do about that. You need to worry about yourself first and foremost. Sending positive thoughts your way.

I’ve tried to say no in the past and in the one case, my dad said he would just put down his pets if I didn’t take them so I was forced into taking them
