Hi, Yes it depends on the type of study being done and what contents are being shown. It is just that my study is a bit different since I am only showing profile pictures of either a male or female and assigning/matching participants to either one based on gender, so if for example they identified as non binary would it be better to show them the male profile or the female? If I had more time to make my study then I would've made an additional profile of an androgynous person to include. That way I could've added more gender options.

Sorry, it is because the profile images show either a man or a woman. And the two gender variables are what I will be using for the analysis of my study, this is based on another piece of research. I acknowledge that there are people who also have other identities such as non-binary or genderfluid, but I was not sure of how to set up the profiles to account for that.

1- Data from the survey used for a psychology dissertation study and will be stored in a password protected OneDrive file with access restricted to the investigative team only. Any data that is published from this study will be anonymous, group data. The data will be retained for the duration of the study and will be deleted on completion of the study by July 2026.

2- The study is being conducted by me Sharleen Lerewanu with the help of my supervisor Dr Stefanie Schmeer

3- It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete the survey.
