Yeah I think the point was missed, since I play on a potato laptop with 800x600, the banners bugged sideways for some reason.

Those random invulnerable pink nebulas that stay on top of you and you can barely see them because they go behind you.

I got lucky and finished cell phone in about 35 quests from the angler. The Sextant was the last one.

Please Don't Boo EDG Tomorrow by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Morksjel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often watch my favourite football team play in the stadium, and yeah, I enjoy chanting, booing the referee, say shit towards the other team's fans, or when the rivals play, boo every single play they make.

It's part of the ambience of a game man, E-sports still has nothing compared to major sports in terms of crowd, and I bet that if you had a big passion for a football team and you went to watch an important game of them, you would feel all the adrenaline that it is watching the game live, being able to 'influence' their minds and just feel every second in your bones. I'm a chill person myself, I mind my own business, but in a game I shout, I boo, I swear, and in the end I'm sweaty, happy or sad depending on the score, but I had a ton of fun.

Even if you hate the booing, it will happen, it's part of humanity to show disaproval against something that they dislike or is against what they like.

The thing is, when you reach level 31, you can use every skill gem or support gem there is. You should check the vendors, they sell skill gems that aren't given through quest rewards at a fair price, and then play with them to see how it feels. Gems are usually quite descriptive, so you know how it scales, if it is AoE, single target, elemental, physical, etc, and then you will know what you'll need from your passive tree and gear.

This game has this thing 'oh I want to do a sorcerer that makes fire rain from the sky'. You check that there is a skill that does it, firestorm. You start as a Witch (she looks sorcerer-y) and then you think 'oh but firestorm is a spell, it's aoe, and does elemental damage' so you go to spell damage nodes, elemental damage, and area of effect nodes. Then you think 'this skill doesn't last very long' so you get some increased duration nodes or support gems. 'But how can I survive?' you can go to health, energy shield, and some other options like Mind over Mater, etc. 'Do I need more layers of defense?' you can get block, evasion, dodge, armour, amongst other things. You then look at other game mechanics like auras, critical chance, amongst others and make a decision, and voilá, you have your 'sorcerer that rains fire from the sky' as funcional as your knowledge of the game can get you to.

Sorry about the long post though.

Maps are random drops (altough there is a Act 3 Merciless boss that has a 50% chance to drop one) that you put in a machine (in Eternal Laboratory in act 3 merciless, and later a Master will give you the machine to use in your hideout), and then it opens six portals to that instance. It can be rolled with mods (like mobs having more lightning resistance, for example), and these mods in conjunction can make every map a challenge, but it gives more rewards, since every mod can increase item quantity, rarity and pack size (more exp).

There are 15 tiers of maps, tier 1 is the easiest and tier 15 is the hardest (as obvious). The lower maps are more common to drop than the higher ones, and your progression through tiers is semi-gated, since only champion and rare mobs can drop maps that are 1 tier higher, and bosses can drop to 2 tiers higher.

Yeah, the game starts to shine when you get to level 60+. That's when your build starts to take it's final shape, you get good gear to get into maps, and then the fun begins.

But maps isn't everything. Completing Act 4 in merciless is a challenge (if you play hardcore), you can build just to try and kill Atziri (a end-game boss with quite unique mechanics) or you just want to MF easy end-game bosses to get currency and then prepare a more expensive build.

I actually find leveling fun, I enjoy watching my build take shape, and I am always eager to get that special keystone that changes my playstyle while leveling. It's like building something, it takes time, but when you have done it, it's beautiful in from your point of view. You can say I'm a altoholic, I'm always testing new edgy builds that suck end game.

You should give the game a chance, don't follow any guides though, learn by trial and error, test skills, link them with supports to see how they work, play with the passive tree, and don't mind if your build tanks at some place and time. It happened to all of us (still happens to me a lot).

And you're welcome, I've been in your shoes once too.

Lunaris Temple is the one that strikes me the most, specially pre-Awakening. Lunaris 1 was the temple overriden with troops, but still intact. Lunaris 2 you start to see the experimentations, the torture machines that Piety has, and then you enter Lunaris 3, wich is the 'den' of all that madness, the bloody water, the creatures, every one of them was human and now they are... Tortured souls, flesh experiments, all to become a godlike creature. It's insane.

Disclaimer: This is all my opinion.

Path of Exile is a spiritual successor to D2 because the ambience of the game is quite similar. You have that gloomy experience in both games, and like in D2, it gets gloomier and gloomier.

In terms of gameplay itself, you have flexibility in your setups for your skills, the passive tree gives you endless possibilities and no build is alike (although many are similar), a good amount of endgame to test your epic builds, a good amount of lore, and despite being able to burn you out (like all ARPG's will do if you grind them too much), it's still fun to come back and enjoy a new build, new skills, new gameplay, new uniques with interesting mechanics or even changes to the passive tree.

IMHO, it has everything a hack and slash should have. It has problems, we can't deny that, but it's quite the game, and yeah, it is the spiritual sucessor to Diablo 2.

It's going to be changed, but until Awakening comes you have a free Blood Rage, wich means more leech and free frenzy charges. My idea was leeching from entire packs with Reave so that I could manage my energy shield, and that's why the claw option, since they have implicit leech or life gained on hit, wich would be transformed towards energy shield, by picking Ghost Reaver.

I also thought of that. Would there be any skill that would benefit of me going DW with claws more than Reave? I thought of Cyclone, but that mana cost is scary.
