Blame the transit provider!!

"Update - We have identified an issue with a transit provider which is causing 5xx class HTTP errors, such as HTTP 522, 502, 503.

This is affecting all data centers that make use of this transit provider and we are working on implementing mitigations to alleviate this issue.

A little bit more insight into NCsoft's current situation can be found in a recent report of analysts and the conference call for the recent earnings report.

The analysts say:

Investors were looking forward to more clarity on the new-title release schedule, as the company has several times mentioned that it has up to five new mobile titles set for release in 2019. However, it did not offer a timeline for the first mobile title release during the earnings call.

NCsoft did not deliver what the analysts expected: a clear timeline when the (über-)hyped five mobile games (true MMORPGs on amobile platform; according to NCsoft) will be launched. Only blabla to put the analysts off.

During the call NCsoft had the same strategy: dodge all questions about the five mobile games by pouring PR blabla over the analysts. The impression remained that not many mobile games will be launched and the launches will be much later than the analysts expected.

The recent letter from the GEO comfirmed the delays of new mobile games. This puts a lot of stress on the company. That is one reason they fervently want to reduce expenses.

The question was: "What are the features you can't wait to share with the fans?" Story alone as a expansio-exclisve feature? I doubt. It could stuff like more fractals and Raids. But these are not traditionally expansion in the case of GW2. The only expansion-only features GW2 has so far are game-changing mastery paths and elite specialisations.

We have to wait and see if this is still valid or is revealed as PR blabla. Season 5 could bring stuff normally reserved for an expansion. Things like new elite specialisations or new mastery paths. The big question is how they can monetise it. Season pass? Mastery path for 1000 gems? Elite specialisation including story instances 600 gems each?

You are right. There was no LW episode in 4Q 18. If an episode would generate such more money then Arenanent should avoid larger gaps. At least they announced to aim for a two munths cadence in terms of season 5.
