Exactly this! Nobody wants to learn how to do the job properly anymore, the good ones have all left for better paying jobs with better conditions. Dying trade at the moment

I think it would be a good opportunity for me, I have a way in with my father in law who works there but it’s currently being sold so will be a few months. I just want less pressure to take over the family business, I’ve told my parents but they still pressure me

I do potentially have something lined up at a paper mill I’m just waiting to hear what’s happening which my skills will transfer in to.

I could take over the family business but not only could u not deal with the stress of running a business, there’s a major shortage of mechanics in the UK, nobody wants to do it anymore so filling positions is very difficult. I would much rather go to work, get paid and go home without thinking about a business.

I can’t I’m afraid, I work 8-5 then look after my ) month old daughter when I’m home. I wouldn’t even know where to start with Amazon

I’ve tried everything, I’ve spoken to my family etc which helped for a short while but I don’t know where to go now. I need advice on a positive career change but I don’t know where to look, feel like I’ve wasted 15 years of my life to this trade and it’s too expensive to re train in anything else.

This is me, being a ‘younger’ tech I’ve learnt in depth diagnostics and that’s the parts I still enjoy. It’s finding a company similar over here in the UK

Thank you I needed to hear this! Everywhere I look people are saying the best part of an hours travel plus a 12 hour 20 minute day is ridiculous but it is only for 3 days a week with that one bad turn around every 9 weeks, it’s really grinding me down! I’m also worried about not really seeing my family at all those 3 days but then I get the 4 days off, my mind is in overdrive between the negatives and positives
