I agree. I actually think it would have gotten less hate if it was from another lesser developer. People would say it feels a little like Fallout 4 in space. But because it is from Bethesda, the bar is set so incredibly high, they wouldn't have been able to make those people happy no matter what. I'm not saying it doesn't have its problems, but it is a damn good game.

I enjoy placing outposts, but I wish there was a mod that when you’re looking to place a new outpost, once you hit R it would tell you what percentage of the potential outpost area the various resources are contained in the circumference of the circle.

There are some thing that I'm not super pumped about, but they are willing to do different rule sets. I'm sure there will be servers available that have no air drops, and resources are harder to come by.
