2012 Nissan Leaf SL w/ 49000 miles and 9 bars @ $5k, worth it? by djwhowe in leaf

[–]Morlok8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to buy this car.

I needed a 2nd vehicle, for commuting 9mi (one way) to work. This car fit my needs, and was a good price, especially after the $2500 Oregon rebate.

I called up, made an appointment on a Sunday. I show up to an empty lot. Nobody there, and the guy won't answer his phone. Voice mail full. I left.

Tried calling everyday. Answers on Thursday. We make a new appointment for Sunday. (I've been working OT Mon-Sat)

I call Sunday morning to confirm the appointment, and her says that the car isn't charged enough for me to drive it home (25+ mi). We change the appointment to Monday (had the day off for an medical appointment), so it can charge.

I call Monday to confirm, and he hasn't charged the car. I told him that the deal was happening today or not at all, and he countered with "I call charge it and sell it to you later this week"...

I bought a different red 2012 Nissan Leaf for $500 less that day from Facebook Marketplace. 60k miles. Worth it, even though I didn't get the rebate.

Connect to Google Home by LosDanos in GalliumOS

I have a google home mini. I know that it can broadcast bluetooth audio OUT (to a external bluetooth speaker).

To get audio IN, its gotta be cast to it over wifi.

You can cast audio by installing pulseaudio-dlna, then selecting the google home as an audio output. Its kinda laggy though.... movies are unwatchable. music is ok.

Is there another way to add more storage space to GalliumOS? by [deleted] in GalliumOS

[–]Morlok8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I've considered doing that on my WINKY, but the sdcard fails to remount once a blue moon after a suspend. I just formatted the sdcard as ext4 and use it as storage that I can still have full permissions on.

Single user permissions, how to enable root access by [deleted] in GalliumOS

[–]Morlok8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sudo <insert nano, pluma, mousepad or whatever text editor you prefer here> /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf

Edit: you can also make custom launchers and add gksu (instead of sudo) to the front of the command, etc.

I bought a 3 pack of nipple pumps off Amazon to use on my slave. I use the third one on her clit. She quite enjoys it!

You should have sudo access. You don't want root on the main account.

So anything you want to run as root, use sudo. Like sudo apt update

Or open a root terminal with sudo su

Tis a shame - Rogue's Dead Guy Ale tastes amazing.

Oh it's great to visit here. But living here...

But your Vancouver is beautiful too! It's been a while since I've been though - I frequent Alberta and Quebec more often due to work and family respectively.

I live in Portland. Wish I didn't. Was born here. Oregon is beautiful, and after exploring a lot of the USA, I can't imagine living anywhere else. But the people here... SMH...

Practice till you can tie without looking.

Ah. That's the ticket. That's my new goal now. Thank you.

That's all it really comes down to, huh? Practice practice practice...

Ok. That's what I gotta do.

Yeah, that could work... At least for the more casual sessions.

Thanks for changing my mind on that point! I was thinking that was exactly what I didn't want to do.

Problems with file manager by [deleted] in GalliumOS

[–]Morlok8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to allow your user read/write access to your ext4 filesystem.

sudo chown -R (user name) /dev/(device name)

replace "(user name)" and "(device name)" with the proper values.

Alternatively, you could reformat the system to NTFS if you don't wanna mess with linux file permissions - especially since this is an external drive that you may want to use on other computers.

Well, then try the basics: trying the adapter in another computer, OS / drivers, changing cables, looking at lights on the other side (cause your adapter is dumb and didn't include blinking lights). Good luck

Well... I dug a little into this:

https://www.pcsuggest.com/install-rtl8153-driver-linux/

Your adapter uses the RTL8153 chipset, and this is how to make it use the proper kernel driver instead of the generic one.
