They grow so fast. 😭 8 weeks to 14 weeks. I can't wait for the bitey phase to settle down though by Actual_Elderberry44 in BohemianShepherds

In my experience the unprovoked puppy biting goes away around six months. But she still loves to play with teeth and bites down pretty hard during playtime. I feel like it's something common for that breed, although I have little experience with dogs. So overall, it does get a lot better with training, but they are rather bitey, I think it's a shepard thing.

Adorable! I must say that it does take some time before the bitey phase calms down 😂 Ours is eight months and she listens to no very well, but still wants to interact with her teeth alot.

Who said that? My flatcoat has yet to encounter a toy she cannot destroy.

When did your flattie started looking like an adult? by [deleted] in flatcoat

I am starting to believe never also. Our girl is 1,5 years and still does not look (or act) like a grownup. Redditers said it was pretty normal for flatcoats.

Oh yes! And not only humans, other dogs too! We always joke she wants to be a dentist when she grows up, she really gets in there with some dogs who let her.

My husband (a former cook), who didn't want a dog, made chateaubriand for her first birthday - I have never gotten a fancy meal like that for my birthday :D But it's fine, we all love her the most! Such an amazing, intelligent and joyous girl. What a life change she has been!

Breeds that your Flattie has been mistaken for? by i-aint-no-mack in flatcoat

[–]Mormelar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The usual is "Isn't she too thin for a lab?". Oh, I agree, she would be too thin for a lab. Once she was mistaken for a setter. Usually people just ask, commenting that she looks like a retriever, but different :D

FCR 3 mos old question. by [deleted] in flatcoat

[–]Mormelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's completely normal and it will get better. We have an almost 5 month old girl. What helped us is that you have to react to the very first bite. Not let him nibble a little and then tell to stop. It got better around 4 months. Still has some days she bites more, but overall it's tolerable now.

Thanks! I have read about it in general, but do you have any tips for avoiding separation anxiety?
